    It was because of the cow brush that Eric @ 10th Generation Dairyman In Pennsylvania has a video of installing that I started watching him. I grew up on a dairy farm and thought our cows would have loved the brushes. It is obvious that your cows love and used them a lot.

    Might want to check that the spindle isn’t gummed up on the fan. If it is then the motor may not have enough power to start the blades moving. If left on without the blades actually spinning it could burn the motor out or worse.
    Sometimes if a fan is down it just needs a quick jump start or spin in this case.

    Mostly, and I do not kid you, a push with a little stick (back of a broom or such) and the fan should turn on but.. it could be that the motor underneath it has burned out during the fan breaking and got stuck in the mix. Or simple wear and tear.. (hopefully it is not written wrong, my English is capital B! 👀😶😊
    Edit; indeed, some say thermal override and yep, could be it too.

  • @puirYorick
    @puirYorick Před 3 lety +3

    Maybe cynical of me but your great fan dealer should already know what to tell you about the proper reset procedure for swapping out a broken blade. As others have said, the fan motor likely went into thermal protection shut down when that blade broke free.

    • @timothymbonham4453
      @timothymbonham4453 Před 3 lety +1

      I don't think so. Didn't he say the fan was still running, vibrating like crazy in a previous video, and that he shut off the switch near it to shut it down?

    • @puirYorick
      @puirYorick Před 3 lety +1

      @@timothymbonham4453 Still possible though - the fan running, even in distress, *might have* kept the sensor just cool enough then as soon as you kill the power and that cooling effect is lost, the residual overheat keeps climbing enough to trigger a thermal fuse.
      Something similar happened to my folks' gas furnace right after it was cleaned & serviced by one of those Seasonal-Special crews. They had to pay the manufacturer's tech to come out and replace the fried thermocoupler because the cowboys hadn't followed a correct (safe) service sequence. They should have known better.

  • @s.pursell8901
