New sub here. I too was brought here by Mori. You do a wonderful job with your reactions. I've spent a lifetime as a working actor and I haven't seen an artist like Morisette in years. She has the vocal chops, acting (interpretation) chops, sings all genres of music and most importantly...she sings with JOY! So many young artists race to be diva's and lack joy. Where her career goes is a still a mystery....but if there is any justice in the world....Morisette should become one of the brightest stars because she is a supernova of talent!
Never seen a performer quite like her, even all the greatest divas past and present, which i loved, did not in my opinion, hold the masterly vocal ability, and beautiful personality this young lady has. She really is a human tuning fork to one's soul and heart.
A dose of Morisette everyday is what I need...
It’s a great song in the show music genre, sung perfectly within its formulaic conventions.
Morissette is a vocal beast. She can tick all the boxes that Hollywood requires. Aside from a great Vocalist/Singer, she's also a great entertainer, dancer, can play guitar piano/keyboard and can sing so many genres. Fan of Mori from the Middle East subscribed because of her. Thank you for appreciating her great talent. Next please her cover of Mariah Carey song "Fly Like A Bird".

Been going through her videos for a few months. She has covered various genres and does them all so well. She has become my favorite entertainer. She's multi-talented and has everything you could want in a performing artist. Of her recent Bway Stages videos, This would be my number one, followed by Home and Someone Like You.
I love her...Defying Gravity is such a hard song, and she does it so much justice!..she should be on Broadway...but on radio as well...she can do pop, show tunes, musicals...and so pretty, and humble....just a fantastic woman! Thank you for such honest, and professional reactions....I just love Britain and Australian, New Zealand...have British genetics, but would love to stay in UK or one of the others I mentioned for like a month. Morissette truly is one of the 'gifted' in the world of music. There is a YT of a young woman , again from the Voice Phillipines, Nicole Floriendo, where Lea Salonga tells Nicole, "you have a voice for theatre, I mean that's my thing", Morissette has that kind of voice as well. The song Nicole tried to do well was Titanium, you really need to find it and watch just on personal time

Imagine: I saw a reaction of a casting director ( EDIT: not a casting director, but a musical theater coach) who said, he would not hire her... because of her runs... I was like: WHAT????????
JUST IMAGINE HER IN THAT SCENE, LIFTED UP, LASER LIGHTS AROUND HER... I would die.

I saw a reaction where a Musical Theater buff reaction channel mentioned that if she did runs and such in an audtion, that she wouldn't be hired (clearly her performances are not auditions so he seemed to be theorizing), but I never saw a reaction by a casting director saying that. Can you link that reaction? The one I'm referring to is now quite the cheerleader for Morissette to pursue Musical Theater far more.
Obviously, I'm not a casting director and have absolutely no experience, whatsoever, with musical Broadway. I'm a simple person, 66 y/o woman in a small town in North Carolina. Never have I even seen a Broadway musical or play. BUT....BUT....BUT....I believe I know what a beautiful voice sounds like. I know that songs move me when sung with passion and commitment because of how the song makes my heart feel emotions!! For the life of me, how could ANYONE ever say such a thing about such a talent as Morissette Amon??!! I get there is some criteria for singing on Broadway. Or at the very least I get that someone made "rules" to go by. But WHY...WHY...WHY????? do these criteria have to be adhered to? I can't imagine anyone sitting in an audience not being amazed by anything this young lady can do with her voice!!! I've heard many versions of our National Anthem being ruined by singers who overdo runs throughout that beautiful song!! If anything, there should be a criteria for those who sing our national song!!! But on Broadway???? Please explain, after hearing how Morissette just sang Defying Gravity, how the very few little runs she did would not be acceptable and why? She has well over 800 thousand followers and millions of fans!! Those idiot directors would do well to hire this young lady, if they had a brain in their heads!! Sorry if I seem a bit "stirred up" about this but it really makes no sense as to why such things would not be acceptable by anyone as talented and controlled as Ms. Amon!! She's one of, if not THE, best singers on this planet today!! What is wrong with those arrogant people who think they know what most anyone else would love hearing!!!??? Could anyone please explain why runs are not acceptable? Sheesh!!!

I can understand why someone would say that. I think the less I know about a subject the more forgiving I am to criticism from the people involved. There can be nuances that are taught that can't be ignored similar to how some classically trained violinist cringe when people start messing around with techniques older than their great great grand parents. I'm not aware so I tend to be on Morissette's side unless a good point is brought up.
@@debbiecollins6517 I seen many professionals stage reactions of this performance, I never seen that one. I noticed inconsistencies such as one professional stating they believe that a song can have many perfect performances because each person can make it their own, I have seen the exact opposite point made and because I'm not a pro, or even remotely knowledgable I will leave it as is, because it's very easy to sound ignorant when commenting on artistic fields that are older than most countries.
