She nailed this even BETTER in her PHOENIX CONCERT, the most underrated artist on the PLANET, I watched the Grammy awards, what a crock of shit that was, the only highlight was seeing Celine Dion, Billy Joel and Mariah Carey and they didn't even sing, it lost it's prestige a long long time ago especially when you have the likes of friggin Taylor swift and Billie eilish getting awards, Jesus Christ it you had MORISSETTE and SOHYANG on these awards it would be like watching a load of shrinking violets, not one Asian in these awards by the way, how ironic 🇬🇧🔥👌❤️.

This is what separates her from most singers in the Philippines in that she takes time to understand the song therefore able to express it more with conviction and connect with her listeners. I wish she'd do more broadway stuff -- her voice suits it really well.

Did you know that this song "Defying Gravity" is close to Morissette"s heart? Because this was her audition piece many, many years ago for a TV talent show. She has already mastered this song through the years, and what we've just watched may very well be among the best covers of this Broadway classic. It also resonates to Mori as in her quest to fulfill her dreams there were many who try to bring her down, but she defies gravity and soars like the phoenix. 🥰🔥 Thank you so much for your continuing love and support for Mori. 🥰

It's the timbre of her voice. It's so full but warm, inviting, captivating. Her voice draws you in. But also for me, it's the nuances she pulls out of the song. I've always said this and will continue to say this but you don't JUST listen to Morisette but you experience her. Yes, anyone can sing this technically well but there's a certain je ne c'est quoi about her.

I didn't know the original of this song belongs to Idina Menzel, but even then, it did not really matter to me because, when I heard Morissette perform this, the precedence (whatever they are) is already insignificant to me. Morissette owned it by singing better than the original.

If you're wondering whether you can talk to Morissette, yes of course you can! Several reactors have done it in the past. I just don't know how they did it but they did! I wish I know the people behind her so I can help you get in touch with her staff. Way back, she had all the time in the world to do interviews, etc because of covid but I don't know nowadays whether she's amenable to interviews because she's so busy and it seems her schedule is jampacked!

In defense of Idina....the song is sung within the context of a 2 hour musical that is performed 8 shows a week. I think Morissette is a generational singer.....but she only had to sing this once. If she had to do this 8 shows a week over the course of a year.....I guarantee you that she would adjust her performance and would not be able to sing it like this EVERY night!
This is the last of a series of major Broadway songs she sang in a row on that very day. And still she sounds worlds better than Idina, even when Idina sings it as a one song performance on some TV show.
Morissette concert in Cebu where she sang 20+ songs and the ending song was An I am telling you and she slayed the house down. Her prowess is undeniable
To those who want to debate me....I would imagine you have NO singing experience...especially singing in a Broadway show. I am fully aware of Morissette's abilities...I said she was a "generational singer"....but make NO mistake about it.. the rigors of singing the lead in a 2+ hour Broadway show and doing it 8 shows a week is staggering. Morissette (nor you) has ever done that. Morissette is stunning in this song....because the conditions were right. Idina is an incredible artist as well. Let's not compare artists or artistry.....it's a zero game competition.

I watched Idina singing this live on stage for a TV channel, and it was nowhere near as good as this, I know Idina has been playing this part for years, but it's time to do something else, Mori said Broadway Musicals is not her strong Genre, but after these 6 songs everyone else can retire, I have heard that they are making a film Musical, shame they didn't look at the Philippinens but chose home grown singers like Ariane instead of Mori and maybe Jona or Klarrisa, typical, Mori would have been the best choice for the whole film, enjoy your journey. 😊
