Saw this in concert decades ago and it was the most amazing experience. I think I shed a tear on the day, and just found this recording and it's as amazing as I remember it being. Shed a tear again. Absolutely incredible.
Really interesting listening to this - and even more so given that the original performance by Clapton has now been released (at long last!!). Great to compare and contrast each player's interpretation of the score. It is a beautiful piece of music and rarely a day goes by without me listening to it. So evocative - some of the movements send chills down my spine. So sad to think that Michael Kamen is no longer with us - such a talented composer and conductor.
