The houses can be converted in brewery blqcksmiths etc etc. They just need enough space to be converted and you lose that family for other tasks. They will be 100% dedicated to their home job
The extension for ale is in the houses, but only in larger plots. You can also get chickens and vegetable farms in those. I think all of your houses are too small for that, build larger housing plots
I think one had just enough for an extension to the side. But that's all I noticed myself.

So the artisans are in your peoples homes but you have to give them some extra land to do their own thing when you build them. Also you can have your citizens grow carrots goats or chicken in that extra space out the back of their house but then they can't be artisans.
Also, if you play the game, you need to try out the storage tier 2. It’s huge. You can get it in the trade thing.

One more thing in the crafting machine tier 2, you can actually make a blueprint pinning microchip so you can pin recipes

Hey there’s a new planet crafter update!
chickens and breweries are from the houses... but you have to build larger houses for space for a workshop on them... the vast majority of your houses dont have space for a workshop so you cant upgrade to vegetable farms or chicken coops or breweries.
My uncle wanted to get into tanning because he thought it would be "easy" yeah the smell was so bad that we had a line of neighbours from the estate just waiting to tell him to shove it were the sun don't shine or find somewhere else to do it.
Luckily for the estate especially me he had a friend with a farm the same friend who was supplying him with the skin he didn't last long though because he couldn't handle the work load.
Shame i was lining up customers at school among my teachers and friends parents.
