Tim English is great around the ground, but he is virtually non-competetive in the ruck after the first quarter. Until the dogs get a ruckman with testosterone, they will continue to struggle.
Yep, and also he's ripping into WC Eagles as well.. I'm a Tigers supporter, but still think he's being too harsh along with many other commentators.. Give them a chance, it'll take some time for players to glue as a team and get a result..

Bevo is a fine human, but he has a learning disorder: he stuck to the lame strategy of zoning last year and is persisting with it this year. The tall forwards idea will only work if the ruck problem is solved...watch Tim English capitulate after a short 20 minutes.
I dont think anybody ignored the Swans - they were super impressive - so they had no place in an article with this subject line. Take it as a compliment.

I would like someone to explain to me why some teams, like the Western Bulldogs, zone off when the opposition kicks the ball back into play after a point is scored. The opposition full back kicks to his team mate, standing alone about 30 metres away. The WB player, standing 20 metres away--minding a vacant area of the field--rushes to his opponent. Too late to contest the ball because he was zoning. This pattern is repeated, enabling the opposing team to transition the ball from defence into attack. Thus the WB are the easist team to score against. This lame strategy rendered the WB (with a super mid-field) an also-ran team last year, and Bevo appears to continue with it this year. Does he have a learning disorder, or am I overlooking something? Should'nt the WB man-up when the opposition has control of the ball to force a contest but create the loose man when they gain control?
