No, they wouldn't. That's why Ukraine needs to do whatever they want and put pressure on the west to pull their support. See how well that goes over with the voters after all of this success Ukraine is having.
maybe what Ukraine is aiming for, is something similar to what the NVA and the Vietcong did in the Vietnam war, getting the public to criticize the war to such an extent that politically it would untenable to keep such a war going, or how things went in the last days of communism in Russia, when it concerned the Soviet-Afghan War. Or how we can consider what happened in concerns to the communist revolution soon after Russia withdrew from WW1 in 1917, now this may require another incursion into Russia to rile things up a little, if Ukraine can take a piece of Belgorod for example, it will show the Russian people that things aren't going the way they are being conditioned to think.
Disturbingly, aside from the Russian revolutions of 1917, the other instances you mention of a military quagmire leading to collective public anger and withdrawal from the quagmire all took much longer than the current length of the war in Ukraine. In that I'm assuming that the Russian incursion into Crimea and Donbas in 2014 had little impact on the Russian public and that it was only in February 2022 that Russian forces started experiencing massive losses which would have a significant impact on Russian public opinion. I hope that this war doesn't need to go over ten years for the Russian public to become fed up with the war due to Russian losses. If so then Russian public opinion on Russian losses of soldiers may be of little importance because within two years from now the Russian military and Russia are going to be in much worse shape in a variety of ways.

You can tell Mr Binyon cut his teeth during the Cold War, as he has his framing solidly rooted and proportional enough to see a very long way. Experts on matters of such complexity and nuance seem an unfortunate rarity today. Such a treasure to find a highly competent perspective which I instantly know how to trust. I do so miss public expertise. My gratitude seems poor compensation for the clarity he brings.
Russia was punching above its weight in the east by neglecting its boarders everywhere else. Russia is just not strong enough. The emperor has no clothes.
Unlike the contract soldiers in Ukraine, Russia can‘t have a line of tik-toc Chechnyans ready to shoot the conscripts when they surrender. The ticks themselves are surrendering and fleeing.
So the analyst thinks Russia will respond by conducting the war the same way it has been for almost 3 years now? Very insightful. Although I'm not sure why he thinks it would work better this time, with older equipment and even less trained canon fodder.
The thing the Ukrainians lack, and it is the crucial thing in modern combined arms maneuver warfare, is airpower. Another thing is sufficient engineering resources. For example, in the south with the Surovikin Line, the Ukrainians would have to be able to suppress the Russian artillery and missile forces at a point to be able to break through the lines there and then rush mechanized forces through to fan out behind the line. This is basic stuff for NATO. Don't forget that in both wars against Iraq, the Iraqis had built up massive defensive works. The US and its NATO allies used airpower to do just that.
A good number of conscripts will be educated city dwellers. They are likely to have a good understanding of what Putin has done to Russia. They will avoid fighting if possible, including surrender. If they do surrender and want to stay alive they should avoid a prisoner swap.

If there is a large mobilization, they are in real danger of a labor shortage that will harm their economy. If they send conscripts there will be many surrenders and casualties. If they divert troops from the east they risk stopping their current momentum. A great job creating dilemmas by AFU
Russ economy already in spiral. 22% inflations will do that!
It’s the job of the military to prepare for ALL CONTINGENCIES! I disagree with the older gentleman on this issue. This is an embarrassing failure of Putin and his Generally Incompetent Staff!
Having squandered thé livres of thousands before in a careless , lazy, manner. Thé very thing Prikojian was trying to warn his about.
Video ending too abrupt.
Oh, really? 🤓🤓🤓 Sorry, it's not true🤓
I think its more difficult to be a dictator now due to increase communication and eventually he will be overthrown. I hope this time its more successful and lasting than in 1991🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
Conscripts to Kursk, thats a loosing strategy.
Wwwhhhaaaatttt? The Ukrainians are still in Russia? I had no idea!
Putin better be living in a bungalow because it’s not to far to fall out of the window
He is not sending conscripts . The conscripts were there before the incursion . Now he is sending anti terrorist brigades followed by 200,000 well trained reserves in early September
Ukraine must take out Putin ASAP!
More embarrassment to follow...young inexperienced men as more cannon fodder.
What Ukraine is doing is just a practice drill
Very well put together video
Sigh….time to just go home Putin 😢
little closer to moscow.
As a Russian I feel neither ashamed about it nor angry. I cannot say more about it for obvious reason.
you think being silent is going to keep you from being conscripted? your silence is suicide.
so long boris. nice not knowing you.
“Cut off the communication”? Has he never heard about Starlink??
ROLL TIDE Y'ALL!
Conscripts are usually much better playing war games on their computers, can’t imagine them being willing to follow through and actually die. 🔫
Has anyone noticed that the Kremlin trolls who used to post ridiculous comments on threads like this, have gone strangely quiet since the Ukrainians started to give the Russians some of their own medicine?
Very informative
Could the volume on your upload be any lower?
You can tell Mr Binyon cut his teeth during the Cold War, as he has his framing solidly rooted and proportional enough to see a very long way. Experts on matters of such complexity and nuance seem an unfortunate rarity today. Such a treasure to find a highly competent perspective which I instantly know how to trust. I do so miss public expertise. My gratitude seems poor compensation for the clarity he brings.
Good thing a lot of the conscripts are smart enough to realize that they should just surrender instead of dying for no reason.
I wonder how many young Russian men have fled the country if they have the means
So what will things be like in 3 years time
_"Conscript reporting."_
Lt. Zofia: _Unit lost._
Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦 🇬🇧
It’s funny how much propaganda they put out to make it seem like Russia is loosing 😂
Russian conscripts have become future citizens of Ukraine.
Russia was punching above its weight in the east by neglecting its boarders everywhere else. Russia is just not strong enough. The emperor has no clothes.
It is amazing in this conflict to have a build up of any forces, prior to mobilisation on attack, that is not detected.
Unlike the contract soldiers in Ukraine, Russia can‘t have a line of tik-toc Chechnyans ready to shoot the conscripts when they surrender. The ticks themselves are surrendering and fleeing.
When the body politic is rotten from the head down, he need only look in the mirror to place blame.
Now a possible power station
Desperate times for Putin & Russia it seems. Just go home Russia from Ukraine, it’s simple.
Repeat Please. Oh.
I hope those boys surrender and get to live their own lives someday and not die for a dictator!
Because of the tekephone effect the folks in Eastern Russia are probably getting a very distirted version of the news.
