  • How do we treat colorectal cancer?
In my opinion the best way to learn about the treatment of cancer is to do it through case discussions.
Today we're going to learn the treatment of colorectal cancer through FOUR different cases.

We're going to talk about the malignant polyp, invasive cancer, a patient with nodal disease and another patient with a liver metastasis.
We talk about the treatment strategy for each of these cases including surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy and surveillance.
This should be an excellent review for any student interested in surgery or surgery resident reviewing their colorectal notes.
Take the information learned from this video and add to it with focused reading in Sabiston's Textbook of Surgery or one of the books listed below.

I second what the with the previous commenter said! Your generosity with your time and knowledge is amazing! Is immunotherapy going to be the way of the future or is it simply another tool in the arsenal for treatment of cancers?

Thanks Nora! I think taking advantage of our immune system to join the fight against cancer is truly a powerful leap forward!!

@@citizensurgeon I know two people who have had immunotherapy with a successful outcome. One has unfortunately recently had a recurrence of the cancer but he did achieve remission after immunotherapy when all other treatments had failed. Hoping these wonderful advances keep coming.
