That was happening when i took the methylphenidate, stopped immediately when the doctor was denying it was from the medication, i feel so much better without it and it doesn't help wirh adhd, it's truly mind over matter, we were born different for a reason, it isn't abnormal, i experienced things differently and i believe it's more of a gift, i realized alot about myself through mushrooms, these medications will not help in life, they will only help you fit in.

Yeah that's from the increase of dopamine and noradrenaline, noradrenaline makes you remember your dreams, and dopamine can make dreams more vivid.

I'm 50 and have just been diagnosed with adhd after a lifetime of problems. I'm taking 15mg of Ritalin three times a day. I feel so much more relaxed and am thinking more clearly. I feel calm and more able to function. My anxiety is a lot better, but I've had to increase my beta blocker as I have tachycardia and palpitations. I don't mind though. Sleep is so much better as well.

After ADHD diagnosis I was put on this for a long while. 80MG a day. Then due to high heartrate I had to stop a while to get monitored. Like 3 months or so. 20 years prior to this I abused amphetamines for a year while living and partying in spain (so recreational / party - related). Back then I stopped when I got home. What I've always wondered about, is if addiction is very varied from person to person. Because amphetamines, dexamph and general ADHD medicines are SUPPOSEDLY extremely addictive. But it was not a problem to stop after a year's use while partying and working in Spain. 20 years later when diagnosed with ADHD, using a high dose of 80MG a day for many months before a break, I didn't have any issues stopping either.
There is 1-2 days of withdrawal which sucks hard. Then a 1-3 day subsequent days of somewhat-sucky withdrawal. But I never had any real issues quitting. I'm guessing addiction problems and withdrawal is only if you heavily misuse them over a very - very long time? Because of me 20 years ago and now in recent times, quitting was a minor inconvenience.

I have generalized anxiety disorder and I’m on biphentine. 20mg a day I think? It makes my anxiety stay to a minimum and I can’t feel fear for the things I’ve feared before. It seems to be making my focus better and I’m doing much better in class. My doctor doesn’t know if I have an attention disorder so I’m going back in around a month after starting them.
Edit: I forgot to say I take it once a day around 7:30 in the morning and I sleep fine in the night.

I started methylphenidate in hs about 6yrs ago and I out of all of the others I’ve tried this one helped the most. I started taking it again as an adult now 24 about 6 months now and the only thing I’ve noticed is it does increase my anxiety and gives me dry mouth for the first hour or so that it kicks in but after it goes away. I haven’t brought this up to my doc Bc I hate constantly changing medicine. But now I’m thinking I should? Im on xr and take two 20mg in the am everyday. I don’t take breaks unless my pharmacy takes a week to get it in. I feel it’s helped me so much mentally so that’s why I’ve ignored those side effects bc of how much better I’ve felt.

I'm on 50 mg of methylphenidate and it only works for maybe an hour, then I crash and usually have a really anxious episode for two hours or more where if anything goes wrong I can just shut down and go into what I assume to be a panic attack, I feel like I'm drowning and all my muscles tense up and clench my jaw so hard my teeth hurt. It's not worth it to me anymore.

I personally experienced very positive results when Methylphenidate was prescribed to me at the age of 31, it has now been a few years with no "drug holidays", and potentially you could call the intake on a daily basis of this substance dependency, however In my past, I struggled in school (12 years of many errors), also and very importantly, general social interactions were difficult for me, maintaining any sort of venture/project I partook in was near impossible to complete. With that being said, as an adult my career and lifestyle has now improved tenfold. I'm far more active, my procrastination, anticipation and lack in concentration has almost completely been eradicated. Generally I am a much happier individual due to these life changing effects. Nevertheless, I can only speak on my own behalf about the outcome of using this medication. I always recommend to those who suspect they have ADHD to seek out a specialist first and obtain a proper diagnoses, a professionals advice is imperative and to ensure this is definitely for you before making a decision such as the intake of a high scheduled drug, please go through all the necessary steps as this does not always work for everyone who tries it.

@@raphdutra2941 100x better than Ritalin! I'm taking 20mg XR right now almost perfect I think I might need to go to 25mg. Adderall makes me more sociable and less irritable also lasts about 8-10 hours for me where Ritalin would only last maybe 1 and 1/2 hour and then a major crash where i would get irritable and just withdrawal from people. With Adderall XR the crash is no where near as bad just makes me really tired and want to just lay down and watch a movie or something. Focus wise I can actually listen to people and understand what they are saying way more relaxed and attentive. With Ritalin my attention was somewhat good but it seemed so fake and it made me hyper and couldn't sit still. Important thing is to take it on an empty stomach and drink lots of water and eat like 45 minutes after taking it. I'm going to talk with my doctor about getting on a SSRI like Trazadone to help with sleep and mood because sometimes you do feel down after Adderall wears off and a bit anxious but that might just be me. I have Inattentive ADHD so may differ from people who are hyper.

Methylphenidate is only addictive in a psychological way. You should consult your doctor asap if youre worried about addiction. Also the "honeymoon period" when you first start taking stimulants is great but please keep in mind that it's not gonna feel like that forever. The meds will likely become a more subtle help and it might still be hard. I still struggle with my adhd, even on stimulants. But they do help - they help form habits, stay energized, even develop self discipline and self control etc. Remember that it might also take some time to find the best medication and dosage. Hella addictive, its very underplayed. Is it as addictive as dextroamphetamine? I'd say Methylphenidate's abuse potential makes it much more addictive . Adderall pills had 45m before onset and since the pills are diluted and overly large you can't effectively insufflate it. Methylphenidate has a much faster onset time (oral 10-20m) and 20mg Immediate release pills are very small and concentrated. Most of the drug gets absorbed when insufflated (60-80%) versus oral (~30%). When insufflated, notably more of the levo enantiomer gets absorbed. Even though the levo enantiomer is much weaker than the dextro, it causes a problem since the liver selectively breaks down the levo enantiomer over the dextro causing redosing to be more dangerous. Anyone who laughs at this drugs as 'kiddie cocaine' should know it has 3x binding affinity to DAT than cocaine and has a much lower lethal dose than cocaine.

Reading these comments scares the sh*t out of me. I was diagnosed with ADD and ADHD as a kid and tested out ritalin, adderall, and concerta. They all made me less human so I refused to take any of them. I learned that the best way to fall asleep was to rub one out before bed. Once I figured that out I didn't need prescription drugs anymore. Now I'm 30, happily married and have a steady career. Zero dependency on drugs.

@@teatime740 Im also 16 and take 60mg daily. For me personally, it’s not an addiction as I’ve gone for days without needing more. However it’s still hard to stop because without it I can’t get anything done, so I push through all the side effects like the anxiety, shaking, low blood pressure, and boring personality so I can get my work done. Hope this helps.

I'm really sorry you are going through that. Ritalin does cause withdrawal symptoms, please talk to a doctor to start decreasing the amount you take until you no longer feel that anxiety. I know it's easier said that done, but you can do it.
