      I use a 1.5 hp motor with this smart plug. It works perfectly. Not sure about the power ratings of a submersible pump but it should mostly work. Best to contact oakter customer care for details.

    I am a bit confused abt how to turn a pump switch into a socket...
    Our pump is in the ground floor.. whr as our switch is on the 2nd floor..
    As far as my knowledge goes.. the switch will only have a live wire... if we convert it into a socket we'll also need a neutral line, right?

    • @TalkingstuffNet
      @TalkingstuffNet  Před 4 lety +1

      Sometimes motors are connected directly to a switch, the tankbolt needs a plug to be connected directly through it to be able to control it. The motor plug is plugged into the tankbolt and the tankbolt is inserted into the power socket and is left on. A two prong connector also works, as mine is only two prong. This is why you will need a wall socket to plug the tankbolt into.

    No dry run protection? No sensor inside sump to know whether water is available before the motor turns on?

    • @TalkingstuffNet
      @TalkingstuffNet  Před 4 lety +4

      The dry run is detected by monitoring the change in level of water rising in overhead tank while motor is on. If the motor is on and the level doesn't increase for some time, it turns it off to prevent Dry Run.

      Can it be used in sump for detecting water levels, so we can stop the motor if the sump is out of water?

    • @TalkingstuffNet
      @TalkingstuffNet  Před 2 lety

      It only works to monitor the overhead tank. I have seen other devices which have two sets of sensors one for the tank above and other other for the sump. It would always keep the top tank filled and would stop the motor if the sump is empty. You will not get a mobile app though.

      There is a schedule option where you can set the time and also days it should run. But it also has a minimum level which is 10% at minimum to auto start. If the tank is above 10%, it won't start automatically, but this cannot be turned off.
