  • I watched many CZcams videos and spoke with many bike shops to try and get an understanding of which bike to go for first, after passing my test.
I was going to do the whole 650cc thing, but decided to jump straight in with both feet, and I am so pleased I did.
This video explains my thoughts about what you need to know before jumping on a big boy bike.
Please check out #paramoto959 He is a great CZcamsr which great thoughts!
Bike in video is a #Ducati 959 Panigale Corse

I like you’re take on the matter. I’ve gone from being a hard no on the topic of starting on a liter bike, to being a solid maybe. Especially if you have maturity on your side. 😎

The funny thing was, when I discovered your video I decided against buying one but went against my thoughts and was glad I did as I love it.
You’re right about the level of maturity, it will save your life!

Sensible review...I remember years ago someone told me...know your maximum and knock it down 10% then you should be ok. Ride safe guys 👍

Good advice..also on every ride its good to enjoy it and use it as a training session with a post review of what you did well and not so well so that you continuously improve your roadcraft.
I learnt loads on my 125cc before i got a big bike.

That is sound advice and love that thought!
125cc’s are great for the learning process.

Excellent video mate it’s very true that if you don’t know your limitations you shouldn’t ride a super bike.
I’ve seen some very experienced riders get over excited on such machines.
    Ride safe mate 👍

Thanks 🙏 absolutely, problem with these things, if you get it wrong then you can pay the ultimate price!
I swear you can enjoy these machines riding sensible just as much
And you mate! Look forward to seeing your new bike! 👍👍🍻

Great video and very wise words.
Like You say, it's all about the type of rider You are. I'm a couple of years shy of 50 and have my DAS next week. I'm looking at getting a middleweight bike to start me off. Honda CBR650R, Suzuki GSXR600. Or I might even go for a "safer option" and go for Yamaha's MT07.
I know I'm gonna be sensible if I'm riding on my own. It's maybe when I'm with friends, who have been riding big bikes for years, take me out on a jolly somewhere and I feel the need to keep up. Hence the reason they have absolutely no idea I'm doing this. Only my immediate family know, and *ahem* a couple of youtubers. Not even my work colleagues are aware. Getting ahead of myself already. Must pass first!!

Thanks, those bikes you list are all great options! And I would say the best pick! Don’t be fooled by the MT07 as the safer option, my friend (who I am I just about to go out with as I type this) has just picked one up as his first and its RAPID, they call it the wheelie king 😂
I 100% recommend you testing first, don’t do what I did and bought before I could ride. I don’t like my Aprilia Shiver

Love the bike and the channel. But there is also nothing wrong with outgrowing your 1st bike. Same thing with cars. Sure you can get a GT2 Porsche for 1st car, but its prob not best option. A new rider may hit a bump like you did and mash the throttle by accident. I am a new rider and I opted to get ninja 400. 2nd bike i will splurge :)

Yeah your absolutely right, I think to be honest , it’s a very individual thing and we are all very different and only you know what feels right! I suppose there is no real right answer.
Thanks a lot for your comments, and for watching my video 👍
