- Steep, technical, janky. Rides like these are why I love mountain biking.

so good to see you back Dale ! ❤
It's been 2 weeks! 🤪
That looks excellent, my absolute favourite type of trail.
That Marvin lap was hectic. I honestly didn't think I landed the drop as deep as I did :D
When you're on race pace... 🫡
@@DaleStonehow’s Dave? He hasn’t uploaded in a while..
he's just dandy
Hey dale love the videos you gave me so much inspiration for youtube
Just as always... AWESOME trails and riding again :-D
I look forward to this yearly trail vid! Keeping me motivated when we move back!
Somehow missed this latest posting of yours. Great riding as always. I’m impressed (?) that you ride the trail that will remain nameless solo… and fast.
Steve was chasing me down, don't worry! 🫡
I love going to trials and seeing 2 trees a handle bar width apart, and the bark on the sides is worn down from countless failed attempts.
What's the significance of the bell sound again? Forgive me for my newb question. I hear the bell in other videos from other channels that Dale is in. Is the bell sound being added in post? Or Is the bell just going off because of the sheer forces? Ain't no hikers on these trails to warn. I don't see his thumb hitting it. It sometimes goes off while he is in mid air. Every time i hear the bell out and about I'm looking around for Dale.
It's... a real bell that I ding myself... for fun!🤠
How you didn't pick up sticks in your spokes during the loamer section is beyond me, you must have anti-stick wheelset 😎
Well one wheel was not turning as much as it should have been. 😁
Tremendo!! 😮
up to the standard. also noticed the loud hub immediately
Loud hub, not ours? 🤔
Cool and it’s 14 of May
this is a fairly low light environment and i feel like the camera does very well with stabilizing and just loses a bit of definition as you said on the dji camera review, although, I wonder if the stabilization would be the same on a chest mount
A chest mount would be significantly shakier, since your neck is a massive stabilizer.
@@DaleStone thanks for the input!
You know a trail is serious when it actually looks steep on a GoPro
Your bike is so quiet that you are so going to roll up on a bear this summer. You were flyin', Dale.
I have in the past! But my GoPro was out of battery haha. Only a matter of time...
@@DaleStone my bikes not quiet, and on a blind corner coming around a bush I rolled into (literally) the biggest black bear I’ve ever seen in my life (and I’ve seen lots) at the bottom section of Franks that parallels the road. Think it was probably that one you took a pic of a few years ago on at the T-Junction of Harper and called “Big Boi”. Yellow tag in his ear. I’ve heard from others he might also be known as Willie Nelson. Thankfully I startled him as much as he startled me and he turned and ran into the bushes. To this day, wish I had a GoPro to capture the incident. Hard to imagine it wouldn’t have got significant traction on the media sites.
One day can you do a video of green bastard to hustler on Burke I really want to see you do it
Wasn't that the Funduro course? It'll be up eventually then... Haha
Hey mate! Can I please ask what your Osmo 4 settings are?
200 shutter speed
1600iso
-2 sharp / -2 noise?
My low light shots are still very dark.
Thanks mate love the channel :)
Unsure if sarcasm. 😅

@@DaleStone oops! Cheers 🙈
Hello sir I am a beginner in mountain biking please give me some tips for a newbie like me. I am an Amateur Cyclist however. Keep up the good work bro.
I have a whole video series dedicated to picking apart technical trails. 🤓
@@DaleStone thanks I'll check it out!
The second trailed looked like a slippery canoo, but i might be wrong 😅😅
Can confirm it is not Slippery Canoe!
Did you ride it in the same day as Marvin ?
@@sahandsesoot maybe not even the same month!
Damn that's steep...
where is this trail? Looks amazing.
Link in description as always!
@@DaleStone
The amount of low foliage on some of these trails is giving me PTSD. Here in NorCal, half of those bushes would be poison oak. Do you get poison oak or ivy in BC?
I'm honestly not sure about those two, but we definitely get lots of stinging nettles. ⚡
where are these trails located??
See description
Yeah, too steep and janky for this old man! 😮
Thought I saw an Ewok there for a moment...
This is supra impressive/scary...
Marvin the martian? Or Marvin our friend from Pulp Fiction?
I always assumed the Martian, but I don't think TORCA ever clarified!
I assume janky means ‘near vertical’?
Both apply here. 🫡
It's not "unmaintained", it's for experienced riders only XD
Janky doesn't only mean unmaintained! A brand new swivel teeter totter would indeed be peak jank, haha.
@@DaleStone yeah, i wasn't poking specifically at the trail on the video, the trails near me are all very poorly maintained and it's impossible to learn to ride here, everywhere you go the grip is absolutely all over the place, and that's when grass hasn't just taken over a whole section rendering it basically unusable, as you can't see what's next. I still love them but it's no fun to fall while casually braking on a straight line after doing jumps and other stuff just fine, i wasn't even pushing the brakes much and i had my weight properly distributed, but the surface was so loose that it simply didn't matter
Fastest way to ruin a potential PR lap: audibly say that this has to be a PR lap
True!
The second trail looks like doesn't maintain well.
Certainly hard to maintain, but low enough traffic not to matter for now!
Why the ass-bots on mtb vids? 🤔
