Unfortunate hearing about the LOTR stuff. Now Gandalf is essentially a guest fighter that’s already finished. Because of that, though, I think he’s one the team will be fighting to get in.

I swear before Multiversus was out there was rumors and leaks of the rosters and they’ve all had Gandalf listed in them. I was sorta sad to see him not in it but I mean what can you do 😑

@@theoutlaw2099 yes, his artwork was finished, theres a leak of what he looks like in game, he had his moveset leaked, he was 100% finished but along with Rick, but they were delayed for different reasons, Gandalf having licence issues while Rick probably just needs some voicelines
It's a damn shame because you know the taunt for legolas would be "they're taking the hobbits" and for gandalf it would be him bobbin his head for 10 hours while listening to epic sax guy.

Well all the LotR rights were sold to a company called embracer, I think just today, which is ridiculous especially with how profitable that franchise is. Also Tolkien is rolling in his grave. He hated commercializing stories and properties.

I see quite a lot of misinformed comments here so let me clear things up:
Embracer is a Swedish company that owns multiple video game developers such as THQ Nordic and Gearbox, they are not some evil conglomerate like Disney --or WB-- and are actually pretty good with handling the IPs they own, they recently bought Tomb Raider and Deus Ex out of the hands of Square Enix which is fantastic news.
All this does is delay LoTR content, Embracer is 100% cool with letting Multiversus use LoTR.

If Gizmo and Stripe are a transforming Pyra/Mythra like character, maybe the logic they use is that Stripe came from Gizmo when water spilled on him
Gizmo turning into Stripe is the most insane 4-D chess thing to do because Gizmo originally WAS supposed to be Stripe, but Gizmo was made so the movie wouldn’t be way too dark lol

Yeah I can more so see Gandalf and lotr content on hold rather than scrapped. Gandalf has been in so many leaks and we've seen both his render in the hbox leak along with in game screenshots of him so I think WB will try to work something out since so much was finished
It already made no sense for them to spend that much work on just 'a pitch' for the Tolkien Estate I agree. But even then some clarity would be nice. It's a huge IP to have in the game and allot of people are banking on it.

my guess is that removing gandalf from public releases is a temporary legal precaution while player first games negotiates with embracer group. I doubt they'll give up gandalf this easily!

I was thinking this exact same thing when it was announced embracer bought the LOTR franchise... I hope they can work something out and won't have issues like the Harry Potter franchise.
And if they do have issues maybe things will change in a few years?

Fun fact: in early scripts for gremilins gizmo was going to turn into stripe in the first 20 minutes of the film before they changed it. Although it is possible that instead of them making up a stripe mogwai.
I wonder if its possible that when they refer to Gizmo Stripe, they don't mean they will be the "same" character, but rather that Gizmo and Stripe may be two separate characters that release at exactly the same time. I think this is a possibility a lot of people haven't really been considering. In the same interview where he leaked Gizmo/Stripe, he also had a LONG discussion on the importance of authenticity and staying true to a character. Which makes me far more hesitant to say they will break lore to make Stripe and Gizmo one character.
Also F in the chat for Lord of the Rings, I am hoping that it just gets delayed and not canceled since its my favorite IP.

That sucks if LOTR content has been cut, because I was looking forward to playing as Gandalf and Legolas. Once I finished reading the series for the first time.
My thoughts is G/S switch off, like Gizmo throws popcorn, S comes out to chomp it and now you play as S (so basically the switch is a ranged attack in its own)
Here’s a theory. What if they decide that it’s super unlikely that they’ll be able to use Gandalf so they instead alter his model a bit to make him an original character I know that sounds like a bummer but they’ve already said they’ll lie more original characters like Reindog. Plus the leaks of that ninja character are already slight giveaways that they will release original characters
the ninja character is supposedly gonna be Naruto if they can get the rights for it. but if they can’t get it it with be a PFG original character

Gizmo/Stripe may not need to physically transform in order for the change to take place, maybe the change animation could be just Stripe appearing and triying to attack Gizmo while he flees, so something more akin to Zelda/Pkmn Trainer

That was always how I felt it’d happen. There are several points in both movies where the gremlins trap gizmo so he can’t get in their way I can’t see why that wouldn’t happen here
I still wouldn't count out the possibility of Gandalf's chances. It really all comes down to what Embracer and the Tolkien Estate are planning for the LotR IP, going forward. But I wouldn't hold my breath, either.
Gandalf's taunt would be him smoking his halflings leaf and blowing out a wise smoke ship

Maybe Gizmo and Stripe will swap with animations Donkey Kong Country style. Stripe can scare Gizmo away while Gizmo can flash a camera at Stripe.
Pyra and Mythra as the gremlins is going to be great
This isn’t really any points of speculation, but there is one instance of Gizmo turning into a Gremlin, it’s in Lego Dimensions if you give Gizmo the Scooby snack, this isn’t canon of course and more of a fan service thing, but still worth mentioning
what if gizmo and stripe will constantly fight for the spotlight and when you press down b one could shove the other out the way
If Frodo was in the game, these could be his abilities: He could use Sting as his weapon, which could glow Blue as his opponents approach, The Ring which would turn him Invisible for a few Seconds and the Phlail of Galadriel, which would ruin opponents vision momentarily. With his alternative outfits being his Shire outfit and Orc Disguise.
I think its likely that either you can swap back and forth between Gizmo and Stripe, like a tag team. Or Gizmo will somehow be able to 'spawn' Stripe, since in the film, all the other mogwai are the result of Gizmo duplicating
It kindda makes sense Rick not being next after Morty because both of them are expert (3k gold) and maybe they want us to grind and save coins

I think they could still get LotR stuff in MultiVersus. They've talked about characters other than Warner Bros characters existing or possibly coming to the game. It could happen. Not sure though.

The Tolkien Estate is pissed off at what others are doing with Tolkien's works. Rings of Power is to blame. The Estate might change their mind in future seasons.

Lego dimensions had Gizmo Transform if he ate something as well. So I am totally fine with gizmo transforming, but I’m not ok with him transforming into stripe. Just give me Gizmo who can transform and Stripe as a skin.

Ok but gizmo uses a bow and arrow for like one scene. 🤷♂️ if anything there’s probably something in Stripe’s moveset where he dunks gizmo in some water to make more gremlins and then that’s that.
Yeah honestly Stripe seems better suited for fighting than Gizmo.
@@calebray1834 Stripe is definitely better suited, but gizmo could definitely have a unique move set (bow and arrow, toy car, multiplying, etc) but when I think of bow and arrow characters gizmo just doesn’t trump Katniss, Green Arrow, or Legolas.

Wait SFX was added for BMO? I'm so confused. In the Alpha builds BMO said "BMO Chop". Since then I haven't really heard it. So I wondered if they removed it. Still really want some classic Cartoon Network characters from the 90's and 2000's, we still don't have one yet for some reason. Very strange that in basically everything WB considers Adventure Time a "classic" CN show despite it coming from the 2010's and basically being the first modern cartoon, I'm assuming that's our "classic" CN rep right now, as a 2000's kid I never saw that show literally ever, latest CN shows I ever saw were Clone Wars '08, Chowder, and a very small amount of early Regular Show.

They were very vague. The only evidence in code is a mobile port, not exactly a Switch version.

Worst case scenario, their work wouldn't go to total waste if they just changed the model a bit and the name. Either for an original character or a character from another franchise that has basically the same powers

Wouldn't it make more sense for Gizmo & Stripe to be one character but that you can switch between the two characters at will? Both likely have different playstyles because of that, maybe Gizmo is a fast attacking but overall weak fighter, while Stripe is a stronger tank-like fighter but substantially slower to make up for his added strength.
