It's my belief that the sleep animation is for the future inclusion of the Wicked Witch of the West, since in the movie she did use poisoned poppies to put Dorothy and the gang to sleep.
If Popeye gets in, then it'll go down as one of the craziest additions to the roster ever... alongside the Bronze Jade or Godzilla.
Also, with non-playable character announcer packs, I hope this means the Cromulons will be able to get one of their own, their quotes would fit right in!
yeah i agree. Popeye is one of those characters that would fit in a platform fighting game like multiversus. he would easily be a bruiser(if not bruiser maybe tank)

I think his taunt didint include gizmo but instead reindog is because alot of time when guest characters are released the original company likes to sprinkle a few of their own aspects into its inclusion so when those aspects are then brought up or referenced else where. The multiverses team is brought up dowk the line. Continuing ingagement
In mk11 alot of the dlc characters got mortal kombat characters dressed as them for alts so when ever DC does some multiverse comic and the splash page has a baraka batman in the background Mk11 is pumped a tiny bit more life. Spiderman and sonic do this all the time
But it doesnt really work here since outside of this game how often is stripe going to appear in anything enough for his reindog plushie to even get referenced

Even though the “over 9000” reference doesn’t necessarily hint at Goku coming to the game (and this is giving me some major Smash speculation flashbacks haha), I would LOVE if he actually did join the roster and would likely main him.
id definitely prefer him here rather than smash, i think goku fits in here being from a show many of us watched on cartoon network
@@PapaGenos Agreed! As a huge DBZ fan, I was never too keen on the idea of actually putting Goku in Smash, but now in MultiVersus? Hell yeah!
It'd be the second time Goku fights Superman.
And knowing the character, Goku wouldn't say no to a multiversal battle against rivals of all kind, even if his powers get nerfed.
With this I mean that it fits the character to be in the game.
Popeye for Multiversus would be interesting to have for this game as a bruiser.
The Water Tower Stage HAS to mean that the Animaniacs ARE going to be in the game as fighters. otherwise,they would have not made a water tower stage bc the water tower IS the Home of the Animaniacs. And I hope that they add Popeye,bc if they do, I'll play as him for a while

I remember wanting Popeye in Smash Brothers due to the fact that Nintendo developed and published the Popeye arcade game and later ported it as one of the early black box NES games.

@@reaperxz3ro that doesn’t necessarily affect Craig’s chances, since Craig has actual code in the game meaning he’s a lot further along then characters like Ben 10, who probably don’t have anything made for them yet.

The stage itself is based on the climax of A New Legacy, the music is from the 1996 film. Hope they give us a proper Looney Tunes stage instead since both Jams are mid lmao

this is pretty wild because I called Popeye back in May in some random thread of people talking about characters they wanted. I just felt that he represented a sort of legacy character whose IP nobody is really licensing right now, but if it gets used it would be instantly recognizable and fit in so well with the cast of the game. I don't believe Warner has anything to do with the IP but I can't imagine it's very expensive to license. I would also throw out there that characters like Felix the Cat or Flash Gordon would also fit this mold pretty well: legacy characters from The Golden and Silver Ages of animation who's star shone until just before the modern age, probably just ripe enough still that you could revive them and find some success. Man, they could even pull Harvey characters like Casper or Richie Rich if I'm being honest. Something about this game and the multiple forces behind it seems to be suggesting that they would not be above seeking out and reviving these really strange niche characters by today's standards
