In a box of records I bought at an estate sale about 12 years ago was an album with a white cover and the word "pepper" written in pen in the corner. When I removed the disc, it had a generic "mobile fidelity" white label on one side and the other side had no label and had no grooves. It was blank. I dropped the needle and it was side one of the Beatles Sgt Pepper. I still have it, or course. I've not played it all the way through yet, but what I did play sounded pretty amazing.

The record I have that nobody else has is a mono promo copy of Bob Dylan's The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan. What makes it special Bob Dylan signed it for me at a 4th of July, 1968 party at my parents house. He was best friends with one of my parents friends, a DJ in Milwaukee and came to the party with him.

I have a record, not really "rare" because there were a couple of hundred released, called "Greatest Skips." An artist went through his personal record collection and recorded yes, skips. He then compiled them unto a vinyl album, fifteen minutes of skips per side. My copy is still sealed, and will probably remain that way until the day I die.

I’m super curious about that Underground Fire record. I love the cover art and garage rock in general. Also, I’ve always been of the mindset ‘why buy it if you’re not gonna listen to it’ or even like it. Glad you opened & listened to that Dinosaur Jr; I’m at ease, now.

Most of my major rarities come from my Queen collection, which I've been building for over 25 years now.
I own a Queen - At The Beeb test pressing released in 1989 (with BBC tracks rom 1973). It came with paper copies of the sleeve. The label on the vinyl is plain white with no information, but it has a red stamp '002' which also coincides with the same stamp on the outer paper sleeve. I've looked for copies for years on auction sites and I've only ever seen 3 others that were numbered. If you have any other information, it would be great. This is an official test pressing and not a bootleg.
Also dozens of promo copies, picture discs from various countries, alternate covers, etc. Very proud of my Queen collection and would love to see what you have in your collection ;)
    Great video!!

If I remember correctly, during the punk era, a band issued a 7" 45 with two spindle holes, one of which was off-center. They said that if you listened to the record while it was set off-center, it was guaranteed that it would make you ill. (I own a lot of records that have that effect on me, even in spite of their well-centered spindle holes).

Awesome video as always. Your collection is truly one of a kind! That being said I think there's one record I have that most people don't have, Mossafer by Shahram. It's a pretty obscure Iranian disco/funk/pop album from '81 when Iranian refugees came to the United States. Great stuff.

The Montgomery Express album sounds so intriguing. Such a great collection of rarities. That Zep album is cool. I don’t know much about mispressings. I remember as a kid Saturday Night Fever and The Bee Gees were all the rage. My neighbor had SNF soundtrack (or a similar double disco album) and the labels didn’t match what was on the albums. Now those kind of things might be interesting, and not an annoyance, but it must have happened often. Might be interesting to look into. Thanks for the great video.

Your Led Zeppelin II jostled my memory and reminded me of a similar record I own. The record is “Oh Good Grief!” by Vince Guaraldi. Side one is indeed the Guaraldi, but side two is… Anthem Of The Sun by the Grateful Dead. Both albums are Warner Bros, the Guaraldi is WS 1747, and Aoxomoxoa is WS 1749, so very close catalog numbers. Based on the label and runout info, my record is a 1978 Jacksonville pressing. I’ve never seen another mention of this pressing anomaly anywhere. And just to make this oddity even more fun, Vince Guaraldi was apparently friends with the dead, is in a photo in the Aoxomoxoa packaging, and played in a very short lived group with Jerry Garcia around 1972 that played a couple live shows.

      @JJM3rd Před rokem

I’m sure I’m not the only person in the VC community, but I have a copy of the album by Sneak Preview, the group that would later be called King’s X. The story is they had 1000 copies pressed themselves and were unhappy with the results so destroyed half of them. If true, that means only 500 copies can theoretically exist. Rare, but not super rare as vinyl goes.

My 1st of two "rare" LPs is Ra Can Row (which i bought solely for the trippy cover), which is rare enough that the owner of a small indie music shop was bragging to me about owning a copy. He was shocked that I knew what it was and owned a copy. My 2nd rare LP is a 1st edition Takoma pressing of John Fahey's Blind Joe Death which I got signed by Mr. Fahey when I went to one of his shows during the mid 1980s, one of my treasures.

Talk about Hummingbird. I have a cool one. English singer/songwriter Luca Nieri put out a 7" with Hummingbird on side A and Milk & Honey on side B on the Wonderfulsound label where he hand-drew each sleeve. 50 were pen drawings and 8 were also coloured in. I managed to get one of the coloured ones, but it was lost in the mail. When I contacted Miles at the label about it, he asked Luca to make me another one and send it to me, which he did, so now I have the ninth of this 7" out of 8 copies worldwide :)

I owned an unique Blues album from about 1979 to about 1990. Since I did not listen to it much, I sold it in my parents’ garage sale.
It was released around 1970. It had a white cover with maybe a pencil sketch drawing of the artist. I think the songs are played mostly by the artist, a bassist and a drummer. Someone like Eric Gale sat in and played on at least one song.
If memory serves correct, the album may have had a similar R.L. Burnside or Junior Kimbrough kind of vibe. The songs were kind of an “off-beat” blues. There is a less than 1% chance that I may still own this vinyl album, but I doubt it.
I am sure I would appreciate the album a lot more now than in 1990. The artist probably was an outlier.

I recently bought a record on Discogs called Graduate, Acting My Age 1980. This record was only released in the UK, Germany and Spain. It is Roland Orzibal and Curt Smith's first record. It is considered early Tears for Fears. I discovered the song Ever Had a Day while listening to a New Wave playlist on Spotify. I really liked it and was able to find someone in the US who was selling a copy. I enjoy this unique record.

@@vinylrichie007 Awesome! I learned that song is about Elvis Costello. There is a video on "Only On Vinyl " about the Graduate album. I saw on Amazon they want $300 for the rerelease on CD in 1986. The CD was in the US, but not the original record.

What are you guys doing to me! LOL I just got rid of my turntable and my collection as an amateur to the VC You Don't Know What You Got Till It's Gone! I'm as such great people selling my records kept on buying all records from yard sales what's half of them being really bad quality another Factor getting rid of my collection but I have to admit I had more fun selling them than buying them them then buying them! I can just imagine the comments from the VC community, here's an FNG to the VC Community LOL great videos,

@@anthonyvigil3356 I remember Peter Gabriel's songs and albums back then! That's definitely a collector. I have a Styx Paradise Theatre album I just got at a yard sale the other day. It has a Styx design on the record it's totally cool 😎 and the other side has a black label on it with no list of songs. Strange. I'm trying to find a professional to tell me what it's all about. I can't believe I found that never seen anything like it in my life!

I have a Beatles album that I know nothing about and have not seen another copy ever of called The Complete Soundtrack Of A Hard Day's Night on Butterfly records. The album is sealed in a thick plastic instead of shrink wrap, there is a 1 inch hole enough to see there are 2 LPS inside. Can't really tell what label looks like because they are in a no window paper sleeve. The cover is all white with black for writing and like a charcoal drawing for a picture on front.

Hi Dillon ; I’ve been searching for a Record from Traffic called Heavy Traffic Ahead , it has a picture of a elephant running down the middle of the street on the cover , friend of mine said he had it back in the day , I can’t seem to find any info on it , just was wondering if you’ve ever heard of it ?

Obviously I don’t have the collection that you do. But I do have a few.
One that I know is a little more common, but I’ve never seen anywhere else is from a defunct label from San Francisco called War Bride. Called Rising Stars of San Fransico. It’s a compilation of a bunch of the artists on the label. 80s post punk/pop rock/synth wave kinda stuff. Also a Roy Looney and The Movers album from the same label.
My rarest is a glow in the dark copy of Caligula by Lingua Ignota. There were only 90 made. So, ya, it’s glow in the dark trash, but it’s rare and sells for about $300.

I should have a few 7"s from the late 80's / early 90's of some local Cork Bands private pressings E.P.s. Maybe a few 12" E.P.s too. I'll need to do look through.
Oh... I've definitely have some The Cure and Ride Bootlegs L.P.s from the early 90's too. I reckon I should have a few more Shoegaze / Indie Bootlegs from that era ?
When it comes to Underground ~ Fire, with your connections could you put members of Underground in contact with like (e.g.) Riding Easy Records, or whoever could help in releasing that Record (preferably on Vinyl) ?
