      Wow, a 5 year later response. Fun with CZcams's algorithm.
      The pair are 7,200 HP total; two 3,600 HP engines. Very much in the railroad power range.

    Knowing nothing to nothing about tugs, this is an absolute jaw-dropper. The wheel-house has a console like the International Space Station, it rides on top of a house that's got a kitchen, bath, bedrooms, etc.; and that rides on top of a massive engine room the likes of which I've never seen.

      Running on Marine Diesel instead of Bunker Oil helps. With the latter, you can see even the tiniest Driplet of Oil for Years to come, no matter how much you clean.

    How do you like the ABC engine and factory parts and service? We are considering a 1.5 MW ABC for a land based remote power gen application.

  • @railbus5
    @railbus5 Před 9 lety

    Those are Alco based engines I am sure. Listen to an old Alco locomotive and it sounds the same. Also Alco used the single cylinder head setup on all of their engines. The 251 was nearly bullet proof and very easy to repair if it needed it. Alco licensed it engines for use in many applications. Montreal Locomotive Works owned all of Alco's patents after Alco quit the US. It is rumored that Alco engines are being produced in the Us again for use in gensets, tugboats and even locomotives.
