Feeding tube in mouth cancer
It is important for patients to understand using feeding tube for 1st two weeks after operation is necessary So the internal wounds heal properly. The patients are given liquid diet according to the feeding chart. Feeding chart is prepared based on individual's calorie intake needs. Feeding times are fixed and starts from 7 AM - 10 PM. Feeding frequency with ryles tube must be 200 ml and it should be given every 2 hours.
How do you care for a feeding tube?
Whenever the caregiver is feeding the patient the patient should be in the sitting position.
If the patient needs to be given any tablet , crush the tablet in the powder form and mix it with water and flush with 100 ml of water so that there won't be any blockage.
Whenever the care giver is trying to feed the patient , he/she needs to aspirate the tube . If the aspiration level is more than 50 ml . Then the patient can be fed after 2-3 hours. The caregiver needs to aspirate the patient before every feed.
If you feel the feeding tube is blocked , flush the tube with soda 100ml with the help of syringe. 90% tube blocks can be cleared with this technique.

My mother is a cancer patient but after operation she avoided the kemo and radiation theropy and the tumor is reactivate again after 2 years but now we have start the kemo theropy but she is not able to take the kemo because all the cell are very low she cannot eat with his mouth we have put the feeding yube and we giving the feed with the tube but I have consult with doctor they said that she is having cuff in the chest and all the time she try to sprit and the sprit is very sticky and doesn't remove directly she use his hand to take out the sprit cany you please suggest me the medicine for to remove the cuff form the chest and also suggest the diet for increasing the cell like platelet wbc hemoglobin so that she can continue with kemo theropy
