I love this video -- thanks for your videos tbh, very helpful for folks interested in archival research, memory work, and institutional access -- feels this gives a fuller picture of your experience than university website/brochures!

Great video! I myself have been studying with my university's archives the last few months, handling fanzines and older ephemera while studying queer fan culture. I love your attention to the archive, here, and how the documents illustrate an Afro-Brazillian history that often gets forgotten or silenced.

OMG you went to Museu Afro Brasil!! It's one of my favourites!!!! They have an amazing collection and their mission is also * chef's kiss * so important for the Brazilian culture (I'm Brazilian). Can you read in Portuguese? That's so cool!
I really do think that MAB's museography helps deconstruct the Eurocentric idea of what a museum should look like. Mainly because a lot of the displays are organized somewhat like the house structure in Brazil. I see my home wall configuration and the disposition of furniture the same way I saw the exhibition floor.
The contribuition that Emanuel Araujo and the creation of MAB gave to the validation of Black people's experience is huge. I wish more brazilians were aware of it; I'm glad the place exists in Sao Paulo rather than in Salvador(Bahia) because it put into paralel Yte museums and a museum geared towards Black Brazilian History.
Anyways, thanks as always for your content, I adore it!

Graduate school is about time management. I spent 1 semester raving at a class and not looking for a research advisor. I need a long term area of focus to specialize in. Separations? Distillation? Vapor liquid equilibrium? How narrow?

I was fired up on police sauce and wanted to make chemistry great again. So I raved at the students and ignored the research. Because I spent years without a job.
