I actually got asked how many elevators are in the U.S. once when I was interviewing to become an advertising copywriter for Otis Elevators. While I did answer the question correctly (it’s 900,000) they didn’t seem to appreciate the tagline I came up with: “Otis Elevators, they’ll never let you down.” 😬

What I learned about job interviews is that your chances of getting the job are just a matter of saying the right things. There were certain jobs that I got, I didn't have to say that much and I still got the job. Then there were other interviews, it didn't matter what I said, I was not going to get the job.
