Godric shouldn't know about the tri wizard age rules since those were made hundreds of years after his death(the fact that he knows about the tournament is already stretching it since It was first held ca.300 years after his death(presuming that he lived a 90 year long life which is short for a wizard but bravery gets you killed quite easily))

As you might know, Godric -alongside the other founders- lived in a lowly populated area with mostly muggles around.
