- 🔴Second Part: • 🟢 How to Make Simple R...
Long Range UAV or just a RC ( FPV )TRAINER? Designing a RC plane with very easy calculations or via online tools. Making airfoils templates for hot wire cutting can be a little time consuming, but once set up, wing can be made in just few minutes. Again the plane is supposed to be mainly modular so EZ parts replacement or even trying different airfoils on the same fuselage. Symmetrical airfoil - wing would be interesting too o.O
Family of CLARK Y - higher camber airfoil as NACA 4412 are great for beginner-trainer plane, they can generate more lift at lower AoA but are also more prone to stalling if the angle becomes too steep.

Too bad I'm unfamiliar with CAD programming & 3D drawings. I watched the whole thing, learning & digesting from all the infomation you put in there.
I like the 'Guardian GT' type look on your design & calculated aerodynamics after research are spot on!
I'll be patiently waiting for your next video.
Imagine back in the days no CAD SW and engineers had to draw all the complex stuff on paper. It's so easy nowadays.
Haha you already named it - Guardian GT? 😅
Thank you for your comment 😊
finally a good youtube recommendation 🙌 certainly for also watching aerostuff
Yeeeeeey thank you 🎉👏 😊
Great design, and awesome presentation which is well researched.
Subscribed and following along. Some the comments are funny, as they're assuming this a completed design. Think it's great that you'rer instead sharing the design process from the initial prototype and introducing the construction techniques that will be used. Will make for a nice series, story, and great content for later reference.
Hello and thank you very much for your comment 😊 Well everything starts with a prototype unless it's an absolute improvisation.
More questionable is the fuselage as it depends on electronics, someone might use bare minimum and someone huge battery and stuff for UAV setup. And also the wing placement so it's nicely balanced. Now I am about to build fuselage and I have to make sort of prototype on fulcrum to verify placement and weight distribution for my setup as 5010 motor with 15" prop are kinda heavy 😅
The wing build episode is out, check it out ^_^
WOOW! Thats Awesome!
Thank you very much ☺️
Appreciate your response to the comment. I have downloaded the files you have loaded to the Goggle Drive. If you have the STL files for the tail done I’d love to get them and see if I can print them out. I will continue to follow your progress right up to and through the build and maiden. Again, very nice work!
You could reply to the original comment ^_^
Anyway, I just uploaded the STL and how to print it. Don't forget the brim. I print on glass with 3D Lack so it holds perfectly in that position 👌 Also if you need a hole for screw let me know. I will try now friction fit. The hole for the boom is exactly 12mm without any tolerance now, as I know my printer will do it kinda accurately.
If you need some modification let me know it's just done in few minutes 🤘
And thank you again ☺️
Thank you very much! Will try the print and will let you know how it turns out. Have a GREAT weekend!
@@stevenshook5676 Sure! NP. Thank you, have a nice weekend too!
Great to see in-depth videos like this . Waiting eagerly for the next episode. Could you please share the angle of the V-tail?
Thank you very much ^_^ Personally I'd like to go deeper but I am afraid it would be even more boring for the majority 😁 Next episode is in progress :)
Sure, the V-Tail angle is 100°. (+ The sweep angle is 22°)
For example on my UAV I have 120°
I think Reaper has 120°....🤔
@@valkyrie_workshopThank you for the reply. I have no idea about the Reaper, but I guess small planes normally have an V tail angle between 110 to 120 degrees.
@@RJMathiyazhagan Yeah something like that. But that's so cool about the carbon boom tail that you can literally make modules and just swap tail designs easily 👌
@@valkyrie_workshop Yeah ! Agree 👏.
First of all thank you for sharing your work. Nice work on the video too. By any chance did you develop any 3d print .stl files? If so, would you be inclined to sharing those also? If you already have shared the 3d print files, where do they reside? Again, thank you for the hard work and your willingness to share it with the community at large.
Hello and thank you very much for your comment ☺️ So far I shared PDF Plans with templates, link in the description. I will Also add the STL however I am not sure if the tail assembly should have a little hole for screw fixing or just friction fit.
I can do both variants tho. And I will add the STL to the Google drive. At this moment the design is in progress and I say design is refined by physical build so I might change something. But If you really want I can upload it later today. I guess you mean only the Vtail assembly? Or you want something else in STL?
Great video ! :)
Thank you 😊
What is material used to make the airfoil template
It's 2 or 3mm plywood. 😊
Hi,
Thanks for this instructive video 😊 May you share the project files? Because I also want to make same model.
Hi, Thank You 😊 I might later in the video series when the model will be polished. It will be refined by building process as there is always some catch xD
Nice airframe.I don't know CAD.. how I can make it.. do you have design in pdf
Thank you very much for your comment :)) Yeah, the thing is the design is always refined by the physical build so at this moment I have nothing in PDF.
How you want to build it you tell me and I could make some PDF or so.
Armin wing from Depron/Foam Board?
Or will you do wire cutting?
And for the tail base can you 3D print or should I come with some non-3D print solution?
@@valkyrie_workshop thanks for your reply.. I made with foam board and with wire cut... I guess many of us don't know how to do cad most of us use online design and print them and wire cut..
@@asifalikhan8677 yeah that's right, as I said in the video CAD is not crucial and it's more for illustration/video. Templates can be done via web etc... Tho I can make all the templates on PDF plus dimensions of each segments.
So far I have no idea what would be the best way to share it over 🤔
@@valkyrie_workshop you can do this share on Google drive
@@asifalikhan8677 Yeah Will look on that. When I have a little extra time I will do the templates/dimensions PDF
