I was in attendance at Convention Hall in Philly and Wilt's 76ers were playing the S.F. Warriors. There was a play where big Nate Thurmond went up for a layup and Wilt blocked the shot and the ball went to Tom Meschery at the foul line. Meschery shot a jump shot from there and Wilt blocked that too. The ball went to a 76er who started out on a fast break. Coming down from the right side was Wilt who got the ball and did a windmill slam dunk. The crowd went nuts!

Although Chamberlain was great in the 1960's, his highlights would not even register in 2023. It was a different era. You can clearly see by the footage that he couldn’t dribble, couldn’t shoot jumpers, couldn’t shoot free throws (career 50%), had very limited and rudimentary offensive moves. Plumbers? The average height of an NBA center in 1960 was 6’10.1’”. In 2021, the average height of an NBA center was 6’10.5”. That’s less than a half inch difference. The tallest NBA center in 1960 was Swede Halbrook who was 7’3” which was 2 inches taller than Wilt Chamberlain. Swede Halbrook averaged only 5 points per game. Have you seen Wilt dunking right over Kareem Abdul-Jabbar? Jabbar was one inch taller than Wilt and 10 years younger. And yet Wilt out rebounded Kareem by an average of about 6 rebounds per game all 3 years they were in the league together.
