@@FactsVerse There was an episode of the 1996 series where everyone went to this new mall and started acting weird, and when Dennis and Gnasher investigate it, Dennis himself starts acting weird. Since Gnasher is a dog, he avoids it, and everyone normal again. Dennis and Gnasher go after the villain of the episode, and they win, and the villain gets taken away. The episode is called Mauled.

0:37 - Dennis' last name in the US is Mitchell. His neighbors are Mr. & Mrs. Wilson.
The comic Dennis the Menace was meaner than his tv counterpart, played by Jay North. His dad & Mr. Wilson were meaner too, mean of course being a relative term.
I knew about the movie being called "Dennis" in other places but didn't know why until now.

I was aware of the US Dennis thanks to seeing the odd episode of the cartoon as a kid but I read the UK Dennis all the way through my childhood, I loved the Beano. The UK used to have a tradition of loads of similar comics, aimed at children and full of mischievous characters, daft jokes and puns - and really great art (mostly all published by the same Dundee based company, DC Thompson) - The Dandy, The Beezer, Topper, Whizzer and Chips, The Nutty, Whoopee, Wow - to name but a few. I don't think comics quite like that existed anywhere else in the world. Sadly, they're mostly all gone now. The Beano still exists but I think its readership is far lower - from the 1930s till about the 1990s they were ubiquitous. (My favourite character of all was Oor Wullie, a Scottish character, who wasn't quite as mean as Dennis but did enjoy knocking off the local policeman's helmet with a catapult every now and then)

  • @Ilovebeanotheyarethebestcomic

Tbh the beanos Dennis the menace is way better because he is way more like a menace because I’ve seen what he’s done for example: he and his band Dennis and the dinmakers destroyed a building with their music

Dennis and U.K. Dennis are cousins.
Both are born in the same year.
His annoying classmate Percy is a milk-toast.
Dennis has Mr. Wilson to pester.
U.K. Dennis has the Brigadier to pester.
It would be a hoot if Dennis went to the U.K.
and meets his counterpart cousin. They
both have a mischievous streak and would
team up on Percy; because U.S. Dennis will
find him more annoying than Margaret Wade..
