    I miss my ‘72 plymouth Fury III! Avocado green, vinyl top. Beautiful car. She won a lot of races ;)

    The 72 was the best looking of all furys.
    The grand fury was the best car for the value. It had many optons as standard only on grand fury 2 and 4 doors.

      I agree with you. Love the 1972 Furys. I like the single sculpted rear fenders better than the dual sculptured ones however.

    Love the bong from the filmstrip. Reminds me from school back in the 70's.

      The bong was because this was shown on a film projector that was manually operated by a projectonest. Nothing was yet automated in the film projectors

    The electronic ignition option was started in late '70 on some V8s, was optional on all V8s in 71 and 72, became std on all engines in 73. It did work much better than the old points style system, but if 1 was smart, they had better carry a spare ballast resistor with them ;)

    Some of the most beautiful 70s cars

    1972 - last best year for improved safety features - COULD always "hot rod" performance tune engines -440 TNT, to get more performance like 1971/70 engines. I like the Disc brakes, Electronic ignition.

  • @coiledsteel8344
    @coiledsteel8344 Před 6 lety +6

    Cops loved the high performance - true certified 150mph spedo. Would do it with 440 TNT V8.

    Wow. What a long horrible show. My first car was 72 fury. Got it in 83. Was restored. Was beautiful. Had 318 but was fun anyway. It was perfect. Paid $1500.00 I loved it. Headlight flip up was great was green with white top. All options. Great car.

    Always amazing to me all of the complicated option combinations. Colors, concealed headlights, six engines - and no modern computers. It's amazing they weren't worse than they were.

      Yeah much better today to have 1 bodystyle, few colors, and few options to choose from while cars are stamped from the same mold. So.much easier

    • @chryslerelectronicleanburn1676
      @chryslerelectronicleanburn1676 Před 5 lety

      To make less confusing. The Torqueflite automatic and Electronic Ignition was standard across the board. No manual transmission or points ignition to confuse you. Nor the bother of the slant six engine either.

      Here let me blow your mind. Here is my new 1972 Plymouth Fury order. 4 grand sedan with Concealed headlamps. Plum crazy with White vinyl top. Road wheels with whitewalls. White vinyl seats with black dash and carpets. Stereo tape, and air conditioning. 400 cubic inch V8. Trailer towing package. Can I make it more complicated? :) Oh it has to be a hard top.

      @@chryslerelectronicleanburn1676 A plum crazy 72 Fury?! Wow, I’ve only ever seen one other C-body in a hi-impact color before. A Canadian Citron-Yella 70 or 71 Polara it was. I currently own a 72 Polara AND a 72 Fury, and boy I wish I would’ve bought that yellow polara…

    My Mom's Beautician, Bea, had a green 2 door model. I was a little kid and got drug around. Her husband was convicted of rape. Using that same green Fury w hidden headlamps coupe. Lol true story. I'm sure he repented long ago (never met). Someone must have been furious in that story of the green Fury.
