I think it just shows that he viscerally loves and needs the competition. He's not as complicated to read as he would want to make it look like ah ah !

Not when the other Person intentional DI's into it, doesnt press any buttons or is so untrue that the Person could have just DI'd right, teched or pressed a button to escape so it looks like their little Brother playing.
And nah actually, alot of Combo Videos are Real. Just not these formats.
I also believe alot of Clips they sended Marss were Real besides the obvious fake ones but they were still just mid if even.
Most of them just looks like your 2 average Elite Smash Players playing, get one bread and butter and call it a clip.
But you can deffinitly see the difference between good players making a Clip and average players making a Clip.
I mean look at people like VoiD playing in their Streams against randos. They grinding Clips against them because they know what Options they can do and mix it with good play/optimal play.
Deffinitly not all Clips are staged in Styles Videos but just quite a few.
You can think these combos are hype, everyone has their preferences. Im not trying to change your mind on that.

but combos made on the fly are usually one of a kind since it's based on a unique situation and mindset, kinda like watching one of those funny fail meme vids

I genuenly think this is the video concept that corresponds and defines Marss the best as a content creator because the more exigent he is, the more suspens there is wondering if he's going to be impressed or not. And more importantly, the more he trashtalks the combos and the players, the funnier it is. And he's very good at those things. It's like his signature thing.
