    Thank you for this video! I had many symptoms like others commented, I ended up replacing all the rubber fuel hose from the gas tank to the carb, fuel pump and then did exactly what you showed in the video and this tractor now purrs like a kitten, best it has ever sounded. Thanks again !

    I have a John Deer L110 now 15 years old. It would run for maybe 15 minutes without problem then display symptoms of fuel starvation. It barely ran only when choked full on and finally wouldn't start at all.. Checked fuel pump, solenoid operation, pulled carburetor and cleaned. These all looked good. Finally I looked at the gas cap. In the center top of the cap is supposed to be a hole. You should be able to blow air through this. Mine was plugged. Unplugged it with a quick blast of air and a wire for good measure. Another symptom of this problem is that after it bucks and starves out, I could leave it sit for an hour or two, then it would run fine for another 15 minutes or Just enough time air to leak in and fill the vacuum in the gas tank!! FYI, the carburetor had these numbers on it 97A 1203 12053117 Walbro 9 should you have to order parts.

      Larry, Thank you!!! I never imagined when making this video how much attention or views it would get. Many people are repairing their engines DIY and using CZcams to find such videos to gathering the information to tackle the job. And your comment is an excellent point. The air vent on the caps. Thank you Sir!!!

    This was a very informative video on carb cleaning, thank you. I ran across your channel while trying to find a video that might help me with my John Deere Lt150 15 hp Kohler that I had to replace a bad throttle cable, now it will startup and run fine at idle (Turtle) but when I adjust the throttle to full (Rabbit) it stalls out, I have to keep adjusting the throttle to get to the sweet spot so it will stay running when I engage the blades.

    i am getting fuel to carb on my LT133 bit it only runs with a squirt of starting fluid.
    I dont want to keep spraying that as it can not lube the cyllinder.
    I may clean it or just get a new carb for $25 off Amazon.
    I replaced the starter solenoid but I got the wrong one from amazon.
    It was listed for the LT 133 but the bracket was wrong as well as the post connectors but I made it work and now its sits better out of the way so the large wires are not as close to the hot engine block.
    Ill post a video on the wire and mounting configuration so others may ne able to easily hook theirs up if they get the wrong one like I did.
    My problem with my original solenoid was it was still cranking the engine even when I turned the key to the off position.
    Thanks for the video....very helpful Sir.

    Exactly my model, and seems to be related to my problem. So thank you. I will try this tomorrow. Mine will start eventually in choke but will die after a few seconds ( whether I release choke or not). Any suggestions as to whether this might be related to a clogged carb?

      @Mike-su8si Před 3 lety

      Your getting to much air into the breather the black neck parts probably got a small crack on it as mine did I put puddy on and its been working good a long time now
      And it could be a bad ohv cover gasket they don't sell those anywhere so you gotta make one
      And then its probably your coil mine done that I changed my old coil out an put a new coil on and it stays running
      If you let off your brake does it die out if so your button is bad or wet you can unplug it and twist the 2 white wires together leave the black wires how they are

    Having similar issue with my LT155 not starting. I replaced the ignition coil, spark plug, and fuel filter. The carb bowl seems to be getting gas and looks clean from what I can see (without taking it apart). I can get it started for a few seconds by dribbling a little gas... but it only stays on for a few seconds.
    Do you think I should remove the carb and clean it or is more likely a fuel pump?

    • @fiero880
      @fiero880  Před 8 lety

      Yes, if it starts your getting spark and air. If it quits your not getting enough fuel. Sounds like a clogged carb or jets gummed up just like the one in this video.

      Sure, are carbs are basically the same. Metering a certain amount of fuel to air for the perfect combination for combustion. Old fuel in any carb and you have to clean it somehow.

I eventually figured it out, but there was so much build-up caked on it was hard to tell where I was supposed to pull and if there were any extra bolts anywhere that I hadn't taken off yet. I've worked on enough small engines to know that I shouldn't just pull on something until I know that I'm doing it correctly because there's lot of little parts that can break if I'm careless. • @fiero880
      @fiero880  Před 9 lety

      John, You Need Fuel Air and Spark. Make sure you have compression either by using a compression gauge or the thumb trick just try not getting shocked. Also make sure the fuel is being pumped from the tank into the carb and make sure what was in the tank isn't crap or water but fresh fuel.

    • @jrweirich
      @jrweirich Před 9 lety

      fiero880 Thanks. When I got it it was empty. I put in a gallon of fresh fuel and I can see fuel going through the clear inline filter I put on. I'll check compression next. I also have heard about in small engines the flywheel key is sometimes shorn off causing ignition timing to be off. Is that a typical problem with these?

    • @fiero880
      @fiero880  Před 9 lety

      John, I have not heard much about those engines and the flywheel key but it is possible. The compression will tell you a lot of information. Have you checked to make sure fuel is making it in the cylinder, maybe priming it ? Also one thing to note is on this mower the air filter was so clogged it choked the engine.

      Eric, You need to take the fuel line off the carb, try turning the engine over to see if you are getting fuel pumped to the carb. If you are then your carb needs a good cleaning as I did in the video. If the carb is clean and you are NOT getting fuel to the carb, could be a fuel pump or fuel line issue or something in the tank.
