ALF follows the adventures of Gordon Shumway, a furry, wise-cracking alien from the planet Melmac who crash lands into the garage of the Tanner family. The Tanners offer him a home and give him the nickname ALF, short for “Alien Life Form.” Created by Tom Patchett (The Carol Burnett Show) and Paul Fusco (who also performed as ALF), the half-hour sitcom rose to popularity in the late 1980s, cementing itself in the pop culture zeitgeist.

It's amazing how older shows like ALF managed to take something like politics and actually made it entertaining. Complete opposite of most modern shows today which do NOT make it entertaining while viciously smacking the viewer over the head with it (which causes most of the viewership to rebel against it) while insulting and degrading most of the audience while doing it (causing more backlash from most of the viewers). With ALF, they made it FUN while still making it intelligent enough to the point where the viewer can think about the issues presented to them in a calm way (which leads to better critical thinking). Overall, ALF is awesome and the writers knew how to write up political humor in a great way.

Alf was way ahead of it's time! When i was little, it was still interesting to watch political episodes, but now that i actually understand how politics work, it all comes back to me and makes so much sense. I watch the episodes from a completely new perspective and keep finding and understanding jokes I couldn't understand when I was a child. This is so interesting, especially how certain things don't change with time. The nuclear war episode hit especially hard, since I'm from Ukraine and vie actually know what a nuclear threat is.
Just when I think i know all about the show, i rewatch the series and find more and more new witty stuff :D It will never get old❤
