For the record, I thought “Fatman Forever” was fitting. But AFTER FIVE years, I think that Fatman Beyond is the best name possible.
I still watch every episode and even went to a show in 2019 with the wifey during our honeymoon.

@@jahblo666 a month late but... on instagram he gave a couple of reasons. First... he's not really a fat man talking about Batman anymore. Second, he doesn't own the rights to Batman... so it's kinda a better safe than sorry story (even though he was never ever threatened with legal action).

The Loki theory has been debunked. Loki is a two-handed fighter. He fights with two knives. That means he's ambidextrous, at least with weapons. He had the Tesseract in his right hand, so he had to use his left for the dagger.

Just so you know Mark, the Sanctum Sanctorum is definitely in the game. As well as Avenger's Tower, the Wakanda Embassy, and many other Marvel landmarks. The game is amazing and you will love it.

great show, marc nailed the henry cavill/superman complex great show look the opening credits too.
Just how there always needs to be a Batman; there always needs to be a Superman.
I think we all could use a dose of sunshine powered hope.
They need to bring forward The Flash Movie with Flashpoint, then change Superman, change Batman, change any character you want.
Then Barry will be the only person who knows that the people have changed.
Honestly I hope they avoid flashpoint. They've already covered it in every other medium. Give us something new and exciting for a change.
How about Barry travelling so fast he rips the through time enough to change it without the Flashpoint storyline, but as a excellent way of explaining the new faces in old places.

The Netflix shows are supposed to be dark in tone, they're street-level superheroes.
From the beginning, that's what the producers said they were going to be.
What I will say though, is that they should make Iron Fist into a John Woo type over the top action thriller.
To be fair, every version of "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" from the books to the radio shows to the TV series to the movie has left everyone wanting more and has never fully nailed it. Considering there are 5-6 books, I would love a good 5-6 season HBO series that keeps very close to the books. Full disclosure, I have only read one of the books, and it's not the first one, but even reading just one book out of order was still a great read and proved to me it was as good as everyone says it is.

I have to agree with the criticism of the Netflix shows all being very samey in tone. Like, there's nuances there to be sure, Punisher is more dark, grounded and violent than Iron Fist and so on, but none of them's a major departure from the initial Daredevil mould (which really worked for that character, don't get me wrong). It's one reason I still love Agents of SHIELD, since it has more lighthearted moments and the more episodic nature of it means it's went off in unexpected directions a bit.
Agamemnon2 I like their idea of it being more episodal 10 episodes to face off one villians is to drawn out.
Imagine if you will an interconnected universe each story different than the last but thematically the same..
The Punisher is dark, but it IS a comedy.

I disagree with Marc. Luke Cage and Jessica Jones are pretty different from the rest. I would say that DD is a crime/action drama, JJ more like a film noir, Luke Cage borrowed elements of blaxploitation and Iron Fist is supposed to be mystical kung fu, doesn't really hit though. Punisher S1 was like revenge action film.

In the original Star Wars script 'The Kessel Run' was something Han made up to get a better deal which is why he says 'parsecs.' Yes its in the original screenplay.
Basically what Marc was saying is that he wants to see Supernatural the tv show with superpowers. And those guys have been working for coming on 12-13 years now? That show does exactly what they were describing so very well which lends to why they have been so successful. An underlying mythology of having to get something done by the end of 2 or 3 seasons but in the mean time every week we see a new monster or God or whatever that has to be fought and overcome. They're not wrong.
Thank you. What you guys had to say about captain amaerica and superman mirrors what I have been feeling and thought for years now, which is a shame. Side note I have been getting my superman fix in an anime called my hero Academia. The character is called All Might and he is everything, I love him, laugh with and at him, he pumps people up, inspires fear , I cry for him , etc..... He's great .
The first predator was brilliant because it was presented as a lean, simple, perfectly executed action/horror movie but was also a great metaphor for the war in Vietnam. The new one was a giant mess of wtf.

How Marc feels about the shows is exactly how I feel about the movies. Only the other way up, it's always the same type of humour and overall tone. I loved the first phase but it just feels so samey now.
Just came here looking for Kevin talking about the Brave and the Bold ending and happened to see the bit at 16:30 where he talks about how it would have been cool to see a Superman cameo at the end of Shazam!. Ha, what a prophet. It may not have been Cavill, but Kev called the cameo and that makes me very happy.
When I was a kid, comic books, video games, baseball cards, records/cassettes were a bad influence and a waste of money. (Don’t worry folks, I married a woman who became a GameStop manager) I was almost thirty before being introduced to all that stuff. I have always loved Kevin for his exuberance toward all this stuff because I feel the same way. Thanks for the remedial comic book education you have provided. ....and Marc, I watched Castle Rock because of you. Wow, awesome! I’m already on board for Treadstone.

I was a little surprised that you didn't seem very troubled by the apparent removal of Henry Cavill as Superman. I enjoy his acting, and agree with Mark that his version of Superman was only touched on. Horrible decision making by WB.

No problem with him earning money, but it eats away how you perceive him in serious roles. No different than Steven Tyler or Elton John singing advert jingles. They had a high end product in their art and they’ve muddied the water by connecting it to a lesser form.
In the same way I can never see Johnny Depp in a film again without thinking about that hideous monologue he gave hocking his awful Sausage Perfume.
