All video clips are taken from gameplay played and recorded by me. The process of video creation itself takes over 10 hrs on average. All video are heavily edited/transformative and as per YPP’s policies the the editing adds creative value which makes content unique.
I have to say, they did an upstanding job with the voice actors of both parties.
Yes just some people think Japaness are better lol weep to be honest Japaness are a cute voice and Dub are the strong voice that have power in it that is all but they as good as they can now XD

Some voices sound better in English, some better in Japanese. Ardyn in particular sound better in English but I prefer the four main characters' Japanese voices.

Noctic's voice wasn't that good compared to his buddies, and I rarely hear he talk when I play the game in Japanese. The English voice is definitely better (in my opinion).
because Ardyn's va is from Overwatch's Reindhardt. Not that I love that game, but if you see the clips of him at blizzcon, he is so full of heart and passion with his character. Hard to not love the guy, even when you only know him by his voices.

I'm playing through the game in English but on my second playthrough I will play it in japanese. Really appreciate that they included the japanese voices, as well.

I think it was the best touch on her character they could have given.
It makes no sense really.... no one around her has her accent, and she basically was raised by her grandfather Cid who doesn't have deep southern accent. :S

Well no, I suppose it wouldn't make any sense if Cid didn't have an accent, but believe it or not, he does, (though a *lot* more subtle than Cindy's- Cid's is more like dialect.)
You'll find that kind of talk in the westernmost regions of the U.S. (ex: Some of the rural areas here in Arizona)
But I digress. You had a point when you said maybe it's cringe to you because hear it irl sometimes. Imo I think it gives Cindy a little bit of memorable character.
well you are right that it does make her stick out, but like we agreed on, that it appeals to some and not to others. :) I honestly like Aranea Highwind more than any others in the game.

I quite like the English voices. It lends a certain epic/dramatic quality to it that comes through, especially for the adults. I quite like Regis, Ardyn, Cor, Ravus, Gentiana and Iedolas especially. Their more mature voices lend a certain gravitas to the overall experience that would have been missing wthout.

I like both. I think the English voice actor for Ignis is really fitting because of his accent, it reinforces the idea of him being a refined and organised character and does give a nice touch. Although it did stick out to me that he was the only one out of his friends with a British accent :s
I thought prompto was the only anime voicer in the group but holy shit.. Ignis voice actor have been in like 1000 animes.. He even did Chrollo from HxH

While I play the game using the Japanese voices, I gotta give credit to the English cast! They sound legit and really amazing!! Although, I’m a HUGE Miyano Mamoru fan!! I LOVE all his work and am really fond of the Japanese cast. Noctis’s seiyuu is perfect too!
Ignis's Japanese VA did Zero Kiryu as well as Yagami Light.
Verstael's English VA also did Vincent Valentine in FF7 and Orochimaru in Naruto.

Did they model some characters based on their English actor/actresses? EX: Cor, Weskham, and Camelia all have striking resemblance with their English voice actor/actresses. @ 2:30 3:47 and 4:03 respectively.
Love how Amaugh is appropriately voiced by each of the voice actors... like a perfect fit. Also RIP Fujiwara Keiji, the voice actor of Nishitani.

Fun fact: Sayaka Kinkshita was also the Japanese voice actor of Lusamine in the Japanese version of the Pokémon sun and moon anime.
English is fine, but still prefer to the Japanese one. I "believe" they wrote all the lines in Japanese first, and also chose the English voice according to the how Japanese voice sounds like.

Fred Tatasciore - Hulk/Megatron/Daimon Baird, Jack Angel - legend. I haven't played the game but the cast (including English dub) - phenomenal.

The English dub was outstanding but I couldn't stand Gladio's. It sounded so monotone and half assed. But still easily the best English-voiced FF game though.

Yeah, Gladio's voice was needlessly deep (his laugh after his 'tour' sidequests is also weird and forced-sounding)
But Luna's was also kind of monotone, in Japanese she sounds so much more impassioned when she speaks.... >.>

I think this is the only Final Fantasy that has more than 2 dialects (FF12 had two). You have the Southern, English, and then the normal American accent.

I'm going to make a note that I recognize so many japanese voice actors (sawashiro miyuki, nakamura yuichi, kakihara tetsuya, mamoru miyano, murase ayumu) and I truly think that both japanese and english dubs have their own twist of voicing each character and both of them are outstanding on what they do :)
Now here's a fun fact: this doesn't apply to the english voice actors but for japanese

My preferences:
For the chocobros I mostly liked both
Ignis - I feel like japanese and english give off really different portrayals of him as a character. Japanese Ignis is more calm, quiet, stoic and soft, fitting his role as Noct’s advisor and tactian who grew up knowing nothing but duty. English Ignis is a lot more masculine, open, and I guess fun, combined with his terrible puns fits his role as Noct’s friend who grew up alongside him and is totally comfortable joking with him and about him. I really like both, they both suit him in different ways, however I’m so used to Iggy in english with his smooth accent so I would probably pick english. Also because I miss “That’s it! I’ve come up with a new recipeh!” when I play japanese. Also his sassy sarcasm. Adam Croasdell just fits Ignis so well and a I love his voice.
Noctis - Both are phenomenal, Ray Chase did an outstanding on Noct so as much as it hurts I’d have to pick english. It wins by just a little. Despite being different voices and languages, both are the same in the way that they are perfect Nocts. I take back my choice of English, I pick both.
Gladio - For the longest time, I didnt really have a preference but now I feel like there’s more emotion in japanese than english so japanese.
Prompto - Robbie Daymond is literally Prompto and his voice is perfect for Prompto, but I like his japanese voice a little too much and its really cute so japanese. You can really hear the “happy go lucky” in EVERYTHING he says in japanese.
Luna - MOST DEFINITELY ENGLISH IT’S SO GOOD
Regis - English, he sounds so majestic and regal and kingly
Cindy - JAPANESE CINDY IS SO DOPE
Cid - I’m not too fond of either but his japanese sounds a little too frail for this capable mechanic so english
Cor - 100% english
Iris - English
Talcott - English “Cactuuuaaarr!”
Jared - No preference
Ardyn - No doubt about this one, it’s just gotta be english
Weskham - English
Camelia - Both are pretty neat

Aranea - Okay now this one is hard. Similar to Ignis, to me her japanese and english portray different characters. English Aranea is amazing. She is very sexy and mature and cool and confident and has so much to her just from her voice. You can tell she kicks butt. However she is also quite walled up which I find interesting, and as a result English Aranea is just a little dry? less exciting? stoic? in comparison to her japanese counterpart. She’s one of those people you never know much about because they never talk about themselves or personal things. Japanese Aranea is also definitely cool but in a different way. Instead of “woah she’s really cool I look up to her” Japanese Aranea is “she’s really cool to be around.” English Aranea is more sexy while Japanese Aranea is cute. She laughs quite a bit in the game and it’s adorable. It’s really refreshing to hear. Japanese Aranea is more energetic, feminine, down to earth, while kicking butt, and she totally seems like she’s having so much fun fighting Noctis. Not because it’s funny to beat up the king (which, arguably, it is) but rather because she sounds like she has fun fighting because she enjoys what she does. But both sides are great and super cool. I absolutely cannot pick one. It’s like Prompto, English is perfect but Japanese strikes a special chord.
Biggs and Wedge - No preference
Ravus - English is great
Gentiana - More used to English, she sounds very light, soft, and airy, elegant, and graceful, its fitting for who she is, but I could totally get used to the Japanese
Iedolas - English has the creepy dood vibe that makes Iedolas Iedolas so english
Verstael - Also english for the creepy empire dood factor

when it comes to english dubs, its usually not the voice actors that are the problem, rather, the translated scripts and the voice direction. thankfully, ffxv doesng suffer from this problem much, cept for that scene between gladio and noct right before titan.

I can understand both English and Japanese and I think Japanese dub suits the game better cuz it can capture the characters' emotion and characteristics. And some coversations through out the game just make no sense or sounded strange when translated into English though.
