go watch the maori all stars haka, I bet you gonna love it
My dude you can be part of this. I'm sure you saw that there was many different ethnicity of people doing the haka. One thing about my culture which is Tongan is when you befriend or are befriended by a Tongan, samoan, Hawaiian, or Maori and you treat that person like family you will be brought into that family. And be treated just like family as well. So go find you some pacific islanders and be brought into the love and unity of our people
I did see that. And that is exactly the aspect that I love the most... family & brotherhood. I appreciate your kind words. 😎🤙🏽 Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. 🌎🤙🏽
💯💯💯 I got so many haole family members its unreal, they brought me in an accepted me and vice versa
Kia ora (hello) brother dude get yourself down here Aotearoa the Land of the long white cloud with your chilled attitude you will have a great experience here in Aotearoa New Zealand 👍✌️ just leave our sheep 😘 🐑 alone we don't shear them
@TWURlsland Really appreciate your emotion towards the haka.
Haaard brother As Māori manaakitanga is one of our core values
As a pakeha (new zealand white person) i still get chills when i see a haka, let alone, take part in a haka. I love, and resepect, our heritage, and will always embrace our culture. Kia Kaha e Hoa (stay strong friend)
✊🏽 Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. 🌎🤙🏽
Same here. I remember being a part of Kapa Haka at intermediate and also learning the Haka for Physical Education. Makes you proud to be a kiwi aye! Much aroha (love) my friend. Kia kaha. ❤
Same for me man - I'm another Pakeha brought up in NZ.
Kia Ora Whanau 🖤
I’m an Australian and there’s plenty of New Zealanders here and when I see the haka, it gives me goosebumps! Good to see how proud they are of their motherland ❤️💪
As a kiwi I love that all nationalities who live in New Zealand will do the haka. We embrace the culture of our land like no other.
I never saw it that way until I left home but looking from the outside definitely gave me an appreciation of unity in haka. It’s as unique as anything and I’m always proud of kiwis for that and being one ofc 😀
That wedding you skipped was the best . The bride also joins in . Seeing the women's part is beautiful when they come together .
I included it in my original video on my second channel. You can check it out here if you want 👉🏽 czcams.com/video/FnAXJt18Se0/video.html 👈🏽 That was one of my favorite ones! 💯 Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. 🌎🤙🏽
Im crying too, watching this im so proud to be a Kiwi or New Zealander thanku brother for sharing
My pleasure! 🤗 Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. 🌎🤙🏽
The Haka is centuries old. Other rugby players, people like Usain Bolt, Snoop have reacted emotionally feeling the ancient cry on a visit to New Zealand. When you visit, there are places like Rotorua, where you are welcomed in this way. Otherwise give a shout out and the North will be happy to have you here. ❤😊😊
That's love ♥️ Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. 🌎🤙🏽
Your emotion and appreciation for our culture is so beautiful to see. Thank you for your love, and for sharing us with the rest of the world 🇳🇿🫶🏼

I am always amazed every time I see a HAKA. The msg I get is that it doesn't matter if it's war, death, birth, a wedding. It's all about respect for😮 people. And whoever the HAKA is for knows that there is someone left, right, front and rear of each individual so no one will ever be alone. I love it.❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊
Beautifully stated. 💯 Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. 🌎🤙🏽

My pleasure! I’m glad you enjoy the content. 🙏🏽 Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. 🌎🤙🏽
We as Māori uses haka to clebrate life when one has passed , marriage, birthday, weddings and our people show much respect through haka and the situation that raises
It is a brave man to disrespect the HAKA the way the French did. I'm an Englishman who lived on New Zealand around 2005. I can remember The All Blacks v Ireland game and the Irish captain made a gesture during the HAKA that was seen as disrespect Ma'a Nonnu and Kevin Mealamu picked him up turned him upside down in mid air and drove his head into the ground breaking his neck! The HAKA is the ultimate team bonding and spirit building exercise ever and is probably a big reason why they very rarely lose a game
The KAHUKU HIGH SCHOOL football team does an awesome one. They did it on IAM’S homecoming during the parade to turtle bay, should check it out
Will do! 😎🤙🏽 Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. 🌎🤙🏽
Welcome to our rugby culture.
Glad to have finally made it 😎🤙🏽 Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. 🌎🤙🏽
Our Maori people will welcome you with open doors/arms and the fact you cried during the haka shows the heart of someone who identified certain aspect of themselves inbedded in the maori culture we appreciate that as Maori people you are always welcomed in AOTEAROA ❤❤ kotahi aroha brother ( ONE LOVE BROTHER )
as a white kiwi this is part of us too this is OUR New ZEALAND its in our blood our culture regardless of nationality or race most if not all men here will proudly stand with our Maori brothers and preform the HAKA with our Whanau {family} it is a great source of pride for all men here
God bless you brother. You have a huge heart and a beautiful soul that yearns for love. Love that has been diminished in society these days. You, just like me recognize love when you see it and you just cannot help but feel the emotion when it hits you. Keep sharing the love. Everybody needs it.
Well said! 💯 Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. 🌎🤙🏽
I really love how you tried to understand the meaning and symbolism rather than just react.
Much respect to you.
I first saw the All Blacks perform the haka as a young child late at night in an international airport. It is one of my best memories. It was hauntingly beautiful and moving and gave me goosebumps.
I am 4th generation New Zealand and a pakeha. Our history is similar to most colonies in that the colonists tried to destroy indigenous culture. However, I feel that the Pakeha in many respects were enculturated into the Maori. The heart of our national personality reflects thus; give-it-a-go attitude, self-deprecating humour, not accepting self-aggrandisement, pride in our home, pride in our community, and pride in our achievements. To be al All Black is the highest achievement any Kiwi - yet senior all blacks are regularly assigned the role of water boy for the team. In many other teams or cultures that would be seen as belittling and difficult to handle. in the All Black culture that is a reminder that we are all equal and have to work together and support each other (even while we compete for a position). Individuals do not win. Teams do.
✊🏽 Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. 🌎🤙🏽
Remember, the Maori are colonists, and we often hear that the Maori are indigenous to New Zealand. There is evidence of people before them, and the Maori arrived about 800 years ago. They have cultural and linguistic ties with many other groups, but does that make them indigenous?
Why are Europeans not considered Indigenous in their lands? Evan thou it has been proven with DNA that they have genes that go back some 50,000 years
We should be careful about how we view what is Indigenous and what isn't
The Maori have come from two genetic paths. Their main Indigenous home is closer to the Indigenous people of Taiwan and also, much later, a blend of the people of Melanesia
So we know the white man colonised different lands, but they were not the only people who did so, the Maori included. It is nothing new; humans have colonised other cultures since the dawn of time. It is the human story
Always welcome bro awesome to see you feel the emotion of the haka, I love living in Aotearoa/New Zealand
Your reaction is Beautiful. Thank you. Love from New Zealand.
Love back to you.
@TWURIsland Kia Ora bro, one truly feels te Mana Māori, the essence of what it means to be Māori when witnessing haka being performed. It really elevates ones wairua (spiritual essence) and prowess to the heights of infinity ~ so uplifting 💯. Thank you for sharing and enriching our reality, ngā mihi aroha e hoa, Mauri Ora!!

Kia Ora Marcia from Aotearoa NZ 😊
You are so right and I'm so glad to be reminded of that! Kia Ora 🤗
thank you for showing your love to my people... nga mihi bro
I don't know if anyone has mentioned it, but if they haven't, it's important to know that the first Haka performed here is NOT Ka Mate. This is Kapa O Pango, which is a Haka that the All Blacks had a hand in composing. They created this Haka in 2005, and is primarily a Haka only used on the Rugby field. That is why this one is so unique. The passion in this that Piri Weepu (the one leading the Haka) has when performing this Haka is as passionate as Jonah Lomu when he performed it. It's that good. So you'll see that the ABs have a choice of which Haka to perform, and it's basically made up on the spot for which one they want to do.
You should have a look at the funeral Haka also for Mr. Dawson Tamatea, performed by the students of the school he worked at. That one is amazing.
I appreciate that heads up ✊🏽 Will do! I appreciate your suggestion. 🙏🏽 Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. 🌎🤙🏽
This is why history is important, because the shared history of our traditions and the shared traditions of our history bond us together, unites us, gives us a sense of community and cultural identity that has been built over centuries and millenia, and it goes beyond the colour of our skin. You're reaction was beautiful ❤
Hey bro, I was blown away with your question "How often does someone put that level of energy into something that they're doing on a daily basis?" It kinda threw me off balance as I reflected and I couldn't honestly think of anything on a daily basis that I could say I threw myself into. I reflected on people I knew and I couldn't really think of anyone. I know that there's got to be a few people in this world that do but there's not many at all. We are plugged into this system we live in most times because we have to, and it just becomes routine and most times passionless, then it saps our energy. Your question really hit me hard. I hope one day I and others can find something to be passionate about that we can put that immense amount of energy on a daily basis and even, in unity with others who are of the same purpose.
Amen to that! ✊🏽 Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. 🌎🤙🏽
You are beautiful ❤ thank you for feeling our feels. We are proud to be Maori

When you are standing opposite them and they do the haka the ground shakes like there's an earthquake. The guys from the wedding were probably from the grooms rugby team or high school kapa haka group.

What you just felt that made you teary in Maori is called Mana.
It touched me to see that you had an emotional connection with our cultural haka. I could see you blending in quite naturally, with our boys, to perform our haka. Believe me, it will be an experience you'll never forget. Our haka has so much meaning behind it, and has been performed world wide...thank you for showing it on your channel....ka nui te aroha ki a koe e hoa,,,
My pleasure! 🤗 Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. 🌎🤙🏽
To see school boys paying respect to their teacher is amazing…
A Good way to psyche yourself up before a challenge. I loved watching the Haka with our All Blacks before a game. You can always tell if it was going to be a good game just by seeing each player doing the haka.we couch judges say stuff like oh that ones hungus to get out their and play. lol if its a half ass haka you bet their game is too but never for our boys in the Black Shirt. lol Kia Ora.
On a side note you should check out Te rapreha’s history as a fearsome very clever warrior who went through many parts of New Zealand conquering other tribes Complete with extra toes
I will 🤣 Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. 🌎🤙🏽
dude your pronunciation of maori was so good! a lot of people absolutely butcher it but you did a really good job saying it

The Haka performed by the school boys was from the town I lived in. Whangarei Boys High School. They performed that Haka when a teacher retired.
😎🤙🏽 Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. 🌎🤙🏽
I’ve seen this video (the first one) quite a few times already but watching you watch it…that’s next level.
Never saw a Haka performed at a WEDDING! Seemed a bit out of place to me, among the flowers and formal attire. Restrained power. Like these guys just wanted to bust out of their suits and tuxedos like Clark Kent turning into Superman, more at home on the battlefield saving the world than in a suit and tie.
That said, I’m so glad that they have found a meaningful way to weave their culture into a traditional wedding here. They do what they want and make it work in whatever setting is there. I respect that.
Nga mihi e hoa
Not sure if you can get the Movie Deadlands or River Queen.. Two good movies with examples of culture in a raw form in the early colonial times..
I appreciate that heads up ✊🏽 Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. 🌎🤙🏽

The Cibi, Kailao, and Siva tau are also fun to watch.
I appreciate that. 🙏🏽 Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. 🌎🤙🏽
All people are involved. It is interesting how the parkiha and the Maori have blended into each other's culture, and it is more so in recent years. The language and customs have become part of being Kiwi even for the whites
Congratulations. You took the time to understand what the Haka means and showed it’s use for much more than just the All Blacks Rugby Team.
In New Zealand, and most Polynesian Countries, Fiji , Samoa, Tonga, etc all have traditional ceremonial challenges that are thriving today.
😎🤙🏽 Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. 🌎🤙🏽
Wow a reaction on the haka. Our adopted brother Jason Momoa loves the haka too thanks bro for doing this so very proud to be Māori and to have our own very traditional dance it gives me chicken skin every time I see it performed especially by our beloved All Blacks

It's quite primal in nature also.
its no longer just a maori tradition, it is for all new zealanders. We are one people made up of lots of different cultures all mixed up, if you are a new zealander then the maori are our people. white, brown, pink purple doesnt matter we are one people.
💯 YESSAHHH‼️ Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. 🌎🤙🏽

Piri weepu is the GOAT at leading the haka for the allblacks although retired now as a kid I always thought he just made the team because he was the best at the haka 😂😂

My bro. Thanks for sharing these videos. As a New Zealand I am proud of the heritage that Māori bring and share. I am not Māori, but grew up with the All Blacks performing the Haka. I get a huge kick out of seeing haka performed. A tip for pronouncing “wh” as in the name Whetu. “Wh in Māori is pronounced like the English “ph” or “f.” Enjoyed coming to your channel.
My pleasure! 🙏🏽 Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. 🌎🤙🏽
Any chance of showing the Maori Battalion song and their famous soldiers? They perform the Haka in wartime at the front when defeating Rommel.
I’ve added your recommendation to my list. I appreciate your suggestion. Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. 🌎🤙🏽
you should watch the video of Jonah Lomu's funeral":. He played for the New Zealand All Blacks. It is very emotional. Jonah was the No. 1 player in the world back then. He died at 34 from a kidney problem. He was 6.3 and could run 100 bin 10.5 seconds. His funeral was so special, you will love it. Just make sure you have tissues.
