Hello, the course is still going on! Presell has ended though 😊
I did my first professional event a month ago and it was a huge success. Looking forward to doing more
That’s amazing! Congratulations on being a professional event planner! I hope this year brings you all the clients you deserve. ❤️
@@BashBesties thank you so much. Your videos help me so much
GOD BLESS!!!
I loved this video so much! I'm actually a 17 yo girl, and I really want to go for event management,my advisors and relatives always tell me It is too stressful and I won't be able to keep up with the job as I grow older or start a family, they also say it is a job better handled by men, which makes me so upset.I'm so confused. but I am a really creative person and have done a few small events successfully... They feel I should go for something which requires more studies as I'm smart enough 😑
It sounds to me hun that although you are only 17, you have some very grown up decisions to make in your near future. I don’t mean like what you want to major in per se, but more so deciding are you willing to let people dictate what is best for your life. I can’t give you the right answer. What I can say is you have to be able to live with the decisions you make or let others make for you....My honest truth is, it is stressful. It’s the 5th or 6th most stressful job in America. It is hard to do as you get older and as you start a family. What job isn’t though? You’ll have to learn to balance..Men are better suited huh? Women are thriving in this career everyday all across the world. I know more women in the event industry than men actually...Also, what makes them think you being in this field would mean you’re any less smart? You could get a Masters in hospitality or management, and I’m sure go even further in studies if you researched a school that offers advanced studies in the field. You can attain national and globally recognized certifications and work for some of the top companies in the world. For every reason they give you that you can’t do it, I can give you a reason why you can. You just have to be strong enough to walk in the path you think is best for you, whatever that may be. 🙏🏼💕
@@BashBesties Thank you so much, I really needed this.you are right and I would much rather live with the decisions I make then question what if I had done that. I know it will be hard going against everyone but I know I'll do well because I really want this.
@@BashBesties this is such a beautiful reply! ❤
Thank you, I hope she read it! 🙏🏼💕
As someone who is looking at this video, thinking about a big direction change after studying genetics for 6 years because people told me I was smart but now realising I'm not sure I like it, go with whatever you enjoy most. Just because your are smart doesn't mean you should take the path of more study, just do what you love!
I am about to be 35 and I’m an aspiring event planner. It has been a lifelong dream of mine and so many times I have discouraged myself by making this long list of why I can’t do it. But thank you so much for sharing your experience blow by blow. This is very helpful and encouraging. I won’t let age or lack of experience stop me from following my dreams!
Omg you are definitely not alone, we’ve all done it and/or still do it, but we just have to push through the fear and self sabotage. There’s so many reasons why we can’t do it and there’s a lot of truth in them, but I’m sure if you could also devote your time to writing a list of why you can and how you can make it work. Start small and build from there, but the main thing is to just start!! 🙏🏽💕
Any updates in your career one year later?
@@amberwarnke6434 I'm currently in QC Career School finishing self paced courses for Event and Wedding Planning with a specialization in Event Design. I have an allotted time of two years to finish, but I definitely plan to complete the courses for both classes if not before the end of 2022, definitely before mid 2023. I'm still nervous about actually making connections and getting clients, but the QC school is amazing and they assist with starting and building my portfolio, creating a business web page, logos, etc. So I'm actively enrolled and looking forward to utilizing the information I'm retaining to advertise myself and start bringing in clients.
I love the relationship that you have with your husband and how helpful he is. It reminds me a lot of my boyfriend and how he's helped me out in my events as well. Reading your blog posts and watching your videos really sparked something in me. I've been in the event management industry for a couple years, decided to take the jump and start my own event planning business a month back. I'm still working a full time job as it is not feasible right now to dive right in as I have my parents to take care of financially, rent, other commitments etc. But I hope in the near future, I'd have more bookings and jobs so I can do what I love full time. Love your content btw, definitely subbing.
Thank you! That’s so awesome, there’s so many men out there that don’t support their partner in following their dreams. Glad to hear you’ve got a supportive partner as well!
Congratulations! Choosing to venture out on your own is a big step. That sounds like the perfect plan, I wouldn’t have recommended you do it any other way. Not everyone can dive in right away, we all have different financial situations, commitments, and challenges. I always recommend just getting started like you’ve done a month back, and go at the pace that works for your lifestyle. The first couple years are all about learning, growing, and discovering who you are as a business owner and where you want to be in this industry. I think you’re a very smart woman, and you’re definitely on the right track! I wish you all the best in 2020 babe! 💕🙏🏼
@@BashBesties Bless you, you're so sweet ❤️🙏🏼 Hope you have a great year!
Also I am finding out that event planning is definitely very creative. And I like that. Yes many times I have had to paint, paste and put things together. I find that the ideas I start with, usually turns into something else
Yes, especially if you’re an event planner and decorator it’s an amazing creative outlet! I love to diy too and I’m more on the simple side but I hope to challenge myself more in the future and bring out the big tools. It would be nice if we had a place to share our diys and events, maybe I’ll create a FB group soon so everyone can share!
@@BashBesties I think that is an amazing idea!
Thank you for the background to setting up , it's an industry I find fulfilling
Of course, I’m glad you enjoyed the video! Yes, you’re right is it very fulfilling 😊
Thanks so much. This was very helpful. Knowing the behind the scenes prep makes all of the difference. Much appreciated.
Girl I love these type of videos it feels like I’m not alone lol im the only “creative” person in my family and among my group of friends so that’s why I could watch a hundred of these 🤗
I’m doing my first “professional” party in a month for 200 people 😬
I feel like I have everything down but I’m still hoping that nothing goes wrong that day 🤞🏻
You are definitely not alone! That’s a good thing for you actually, now you’ve got a built in clientele lol...That’s awesome! 200 is so amazing. 💁♀️ I’ve never done an event that large, but I’m sure it’ll be great and everything will turn out beautiful! 💕
I know you will do a great job! I'm in the same boat. My 1st client 150 people. Are you doing it all by yourself or will you be hiring people?
Jessica Osa thank you! It was this past weekend and Since it was for a family members significant other I didn’t charge anything so I let her sisters help me with set up and the take down. It was my gift to the couple but unfortunately our indifferences got in the way at the end so we didn’t really have that much communication with how the final result was supposed to look. Friends and family were really pleased with how it came out too.
@jessica osa Congratulations on your first client!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼💕
@@BashBesties thank you so much. I'm so nervous but I know I got this. You've shared so much knowledge and I though you for that ❤️
Thank you for sharing! I'm in the process of starting my event planning and decor business! You are so right the work is in the logistics and prep for the event. The set-up and execution is easy if the logistics and prep for the event were done well. Thanks again! I'm emailing about that class...I hope much more success for your business!
im so inspired. i love it that you show us the real deal of whats its really like
Seeing this is enlightening and joyful to watch , I am planning on doing an events business , I am loving the creativity , business strategies and decorating

I was thinking about going into it myself since ever since I was 7 I had a huge passion for planning and planning events! Now I'm 16 and I still have a passion for it, thanks so much for the educational and inspirational videos!

Thank you Nina!! 💕 They’ve grown up in the church most of the childhood, I just pray they’ll continue into adulthood 🙏🏽🙏🏽
I love that your husband helps you!
I'm an event coordinator for a non-profit association and I wouldn't be good at wedding planning or coming up with good ideas for decor, but I'm good with behind-the-scenes details.
I love long videos..longer the better haha...this is the exact type of videos ive been looking for!
I was worried it would be too long and people would complain 🤦🏽♀️ ...So I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed it! I’ll try to put up some longer ones on a regular basis now! ❤️
Great video! Lots of really good nuggets, most people don’t realize what this job entails. It’s the little things that make the biggest difference. You’re awesome!
Very very true! I think many people are shocked to realize most of the work is before the actual day of the event and it’s not as glamorous as they’d assumed lol Thank you so much for watching! 💕
Thinking about shortly beginning school for wedding/special event planning! I’m going to keep watching your videos it really have a solid example of the prep on the business side!
That’s awesome, congratulations!! I’m so happy you’re here with us. Yes especially if you plan to start your own business, knowing the prep behind being a small business party planner or decorator is so vital!! Good luck with your studies 💕💕

Watching this in 2021!
I really wanted to be an event planner but it’s really hard since I have no idea where to start. Also, due to pandemic, I’m really not sure how to get clients 😕
But I’m actually doing some decorating stuff during the holidays and bdays of my fam.
I’m so inspired by your vid! ❤️
Great video, thank you for sharing. I would like to learn how to charge for different types of.events.
I love your work! Where do you get your pink canvases from and easels?
Love this 💖 I’m an event styler in the UK and love your Chanel!
Omg hello from the US babe!! 💕 I really appreciate that, how’s the event industry in the UK? Very similar?
Miss Event Planner hey honey 💖💖 yes very similar! It’s so interesting to see different trends though, I love it 😍 so nice following other event planners journey too, I’m all about supporting girl bosses 👑
Very informative
Thank you for sharing this! Your videos are extremely helpful.
Can you share/explain how you do the clean up as well? Like, how do you end the event after certain hours that the client paid for? Do you usually have to remind them?
Thanks babe! I should probably make a video about this but until then here’s my take on that...
Yes, sometimes you do especially if you’re providing an hourly based service. You’ll notice with most peoples smaller events that the party usually naturally starts to wind down anyway and people start leaving on their own after 2-3 hours which is nice. Larger events this may not be the case.
But then again usually larger events they’ve rented a venue, thus the venues usually only give them a certain amount of time to be there and clean up before charging them substantially as well. People want their deposit back so they try to make sure to end on time. If you’re the coordinator or planner you can remind them, or often the venue will have a coordinator on site to tell you you gotta go by a certain time.
It’s all about communication. I run my business on time slots so during my correspondence with my client I include the day and time and package they booked multiple times before the actual event. It should also be in your contact. 💕
You are absolutely right . I have learned the hard way . I just seem to run out of time no matter what I do 😐. Thanks so much for this informative video 👍🏽
Yea it happens, just trying to start party prep sooner is always a good goal, but girl we all find ourselves up pulling the dreaded all-nighter from time to time. 🤦🏽♀️ I think it’s the nature of the job really lol you’re not alone! 😩
I found those little stools , but I don’t see them in white . Can you point me in the right direction ? Thanks 🥰

Thank you for watching! ❤️
I love this video!! I have a question tho.. how can I be a concert/tour/award show planner?
Video was amazing
Thanks Mildred! 💕
Amazing video!
Thanks hun, I’m glad you enjoyed it! ❤️
Hey, love ur videos 😀❤️! I have a few questions. To start, where do you buy ur decorations (chair & table coverings, draperies 4 pipes etc)?:Do u rent them, or do u just buy them & include it in the price of setup & just add it to inventory? I was wondering how to start growing inventory (really just start period 😆), and what's the basics to have on hand (of ur own) to get started?
For example, would it be a good idea to have at least (1 set) of pipe & drape, and white seat & table coverings, then buy color accessories as needed like (runners, color table coverings that go over white tablecloth, and ribbons around chairs etc)? I don't want to have to rent everything, I wan a few Staples on hand.
Thanx!!! 😊
Where’d you get the little easels from? So cute!!
You’re so pretty. I enjoyed this video
Thank you 💛 I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Your videos are so helpful. I do the same line of work-self taught by alot of trial and error, but mostly God's grace! Would you mind sharing a video on tips of how to pack and store items before and even after breaking down an event? More specifically, for those who may not have an office space. I am completely a mobile planner, and I have to be creative in how to store items in a closet, because I have really limited space right now, but my inventory is enough for a garage, so I have alot of things in a storage unit until I can afford an office space, or another bedroom with shelving. Any suggestions, or a peek to your flow will help! Thank you for all you do, and may God continue to bless and prosper you.
Aw thank you so much! 💕 Storage video is definitely going up this month and I will try to film a clean up video soon! I had a storage unit too for awhile but found it not very useful for me particularly because I didn’t want to keep going back to the storage every time I needed something. If you can find a small office to rent for a similar rate I would recommend that and at least you can work out of it. It’s a better use of space and money in my opinion. I know it can be hard to find though, just local churches and centers sometimes they have extra cheap rooms for rent. 💕
I just came across your channel today and I’ve learned so much in the last couple hours I’ve been watching! Subscribing!!
Ps, who was the lady helping you at this event? How do you go about finding help when you need it? (Maybe putting up poles that takes 2 people, or hanging garland that you can’t reach with no latter)?
Thank you and I love to see your work!!
Hello. Where did you purchase your balloon white cover for your balloons?
This might sound dumb but as a 11 year old girl starting a business this is really helpful and I’ve made a lot of progress. Thank you!
Congratulations! That doesn’t sound dumb at all. The earlier you start the better!!! I wish all the best to you 🎉
Beautiful
Good job party planner
I was an event planner years ago i Philadelphia PA. I moved to South Carolina 8 years ago, but I never got back into it. Now I want to re-enter the field. So much has changed. I’m right about to graduate with my MA in mental health counseling, but I’ve always been drawn for a career in event planning. I feel that I’m so far behind being that I’m 25 and have no experience, but I live in NYC and feel like getting an intro gig may be possible. What do you think about someone entering the field like this?
I watched it all...
You’re a real one Stacia!! 🙌🏼..Thanks for watching! ❤️
I REALLY want to be an event planner. Is there any way I could get in contact with you? Of all the you tubers you were so helpful and the most inspiring. I am BEGGING! I have so many questions!
Hi it was great watching you learned alot planning to start my own event decorating job ....got few questions...
1) what is the main difference between event planners and decorators...like am thinking of Event decorator...but then I saw your title as being event planner....do you get to plan about catering...or only decorating couldn't understand the main difference help me out:)
2)Did you have to.buy all the tables and chairs....or you rent them or your clients get it....
Thank you so much you are amazing:)
G G
Event planner organize speakers, entertainment, and activities. They also oversee the finances of meetings and conventions. On the day of the event, planners may register attendees, coordinate transportation, and make sure meeting rooms are set up properly.
Where as decorator is a person whose job involves decorating rooms - fixing them up, painting, arranging furniture, and so on.
We can hire vendors for chairs and tables and soon.
Im wanting to be a kids birthday party planner, im an artist have a BFA, ive been a party host at jobs for years, im always limited with my creativity so im looking to branch out on my own. I need to figure out how much i wanna charge for party packages and my hourly rate. id be working solo but im used to working solo and getting everything done in a timely manner im really great at organizing and time management as well as communication. what would you recommend?
Did you plan the whole party? Food, tables and chairs? or just the painting and backdrop?
Is there any difference between event manager and event planner? If there is any difference them what is it?
Hi there what is the COURSE you mentioned in this video?
If you use acrylic paints, let them dry and you can peel the paint out super easy, especially on plastic surfaces
Awesome tip, thanks Kasandra!! 💕
Thank you for the video! So initially I dreamed of wedding planning but I want to broaden the scope for my finances. So it seems you work for yourself, i'm assuming. So congratulations!! I have a question does having your own planning business vs working for a company look differently? Also which did you initially start under?
Thanks for watching! Honestly weddings is a great niche in itself, they have larger budgets and happening all year round. Niching down into weddings can be very viable. You could add other options as in full planning, partial planning or even month of coordination. It’s completely up to you, you have to do what feels right! For me girls spa parties was how I first started and that’s great, but it’s a little too niched in my opinion. There’s only so many ways to expand on that....Thank you! Yes it can depending on how big or large the firm or business you would be working for. I do allllll the tasks from tweaking my website, taking inquiries, phone consultations, buying, planning, decorating, etc. In a smaller planning company it’s likely you may share in some of those tasks as well. However in a larger firm you may not have that same range of daily tasks because you will probably have access to a larger team. A receptionist maybe, a graphic designer on staff, a venue manager, etc. I tend to wear all hats as the owner. Of course I can outsource things, but for small timers a lot is done in house for higher profits. I actually stumbled into event planning. I got a cosmetology license and started doing kids spa parties on the side. I eventually started adding more decor, more activities, more themes, favors, backdrops, etc....and looked up one day and finally realized I was an event planner, not just a cosmetologist “doing” spa parties anymore. Once I realized that I approached my business as such from then on out 😊
Hey girl!
Just wondering because I’ve been thinking about getting into event/party planning… what vehicle would you say is appropriate for your needs?
Is a minivan enough for what you brought to the venue? Or do you have your own cargo van?
Thanks girl!
Heyyy! I would say a minivan will be sufficient for most of the events when you’re first getting started. If you’re doing a larger event you’ll likely be using multiple vendors so won’t need to transport as much stuff.
If you have to transport more items or have multiple bookings, you always have the option of renting a cargo van from Uhaul or Home Depot for the day or the weekend.
When you have a established clientele and continue to be booked on a regular basis, then it can be time to invest in a cargo van or box truck for your biz!
Best wishes! 🎉
Great video. I can relate. I find pre party prep to be the most important and more stressful part of an event.
Thank you hun! Yes, I totally agree. Party prep can be stressful, and especially for tedious tasks. Do you have any special tips or times you like to start prep?
Hi question! So when you buy things for parties, you keep them right? Even though the client pays for it?
Hi, yes I keep it unless it’s custom with their name on it or floral centerpieces…and occasionally if they really really want it and ask for it. For example, I just did a kids “transportation” themed party for a 2 yr old and the centerpieces were toy cars and trains and wood train tracks. The client rounded them up at the end of the party as she wanted to keep them for her son to play with after the party. I wasn’t going to tell her to give the toy trains back so I let her keep them, but larger decor I could use again and re-rent, I would usually make sure to say it’s a rental.
i love im new to this business im so nervous
Don’t be nervous, you got this 💪🏽
Do you reuse the paint brushes? What does the clients get to keep from your parties?
Hello, sometimes I reuse paint brushes if they’re still in good condition after the party. If you rinse them and soak them right after the activity is done and you purchased good quality brushes they can often be reused. If you buy the cheap ones it’s not likely, and I’ll just throw those away. I retain all my items after the party, unless they have their name on it, like a custom sign. Kids keep their activity project and favors. 💕
I’m decorating & coordinating my sons November 6, 2021 Wedding🤪🥰😳
……..This is my 1st time doing this & Im totally undecided if I want to take these skills any further
