I see everyone praising the women for how they got their pound of flesh. No one has talked about how they got themselves into the mess in the first place and how they shouldn't have gotten into such a mess.
Women! You don't do marriage duties in a relationship! Keep parts of you to yourself. The courtship phase of a relationship is meant for "knowing each other". This movie is awesome and a perfect example of situations where forgiveness may not necessarily be a solution. Mervin and Tunde deserve what they got and this is should be an eye opener for people living such lives out there.
What I’ve noticed is that a lot of African movies I watch associate forgiveness with staying with the person to hurt them again. Forgiveness doesn’t always mean you take them back though. Forgiveness may be for you and help you to move on.

I don't know if it's because I'm much older now, or because I was raised to have a lot of self-worth for myself, but I strongly feel that in this day and age, financially dependent women(most especially) should know that they have CONTROL over their own bodies, and exercise that control, even in a marriage. This is the lesson I took from the movie. We still allow patriarchy to govern our decisions.
