In august of 2022 i said the man would end with 703 career homers because it made since to me he’d do 2/3 his annual average in his last year. I was right, he did just that. Congrats sir!
You can't argue with his answers. I enjoy the context of the question, best players we've seen with our eyes, and not players who we've never seen. Every other sport the experts look at the modern era, people they have seen to determine the greatest.
Hank Aaron was the best I ever saw. I'm a long time Tiger fan. The best pitcher I ever saw was Nolan Ryan, One of the most insanely popular pitchers was Mark Fidrych. Best baserunner I ever saw was Lou Brock. Best center fielder, Willie Mays. Best right fielder, Al Kaline. Best left fielder Carl Yastrzemski.
Cool to see Pujols here and interesting to hear his insights! Big fan of Pujols! 😀 The best pitcher I ever saw in person at a game, was Randy Johnson! Went to a few Mariners games here and there as a teenager in the 90's. When Randy Johnson was pitching, it was almost comically predictable that a whole bunch of batters were going to be struck out! 😁 Those were fun times. 😄
Prime Felix was on another level. Probably one of, if not, the only pitcher to win the Cy Young with a losing record. It's just a shame that he couldn't stay healthy and never had good run support otherwise he'd be in the HoF. Edit: I'm wrong Felix went 13-12
Nope, Felix Hernandez did not win the Cy Young with a losing record. The year he won, he went 13-12. Eric Gagne was 2-3 when he won in 2003. Also, Hernandez is not yet eligible for the Hall of Fame. All of this info is readily available online.
@wallacecreed4746 but his knowledge of the game had prolonged his career. His changeupe and sinker kept him going past his prime which still made him effective. He aged like Maddox, fine wine
That's crazy Pujols said Cabrerra cause I thought the exact same thing. During the years around his triple crown year and including his triple crown year you couldn't turn on the tv without seeing him doing some magic at the plate. Best pitcher I've ever seen was 2014-2017 Clayton Kershaw his stuff was just unhittable and could locate everything perfectly
Trout is the most overrated player of all time. He’s been in the league for 13 years now? And he’s played in 3 playoff games with a .083 average. I know it’s a team game, but as good as everyone makes trout out to be, he should be better than 3 total playoff games and 1 hit in the playoffs.
@@Flirken1 i dont know about overrated yeah hes only been in 3 playoff games and didnt bat well but in those 13 years he is putting a 300+ BA 412 OBP and 582 SLG
Clemente was my favorite player and has never gotten the proper amount of respect from the league. Retire 21 just like they did for Jackie, he was and still is a guy that every Latino player attempts to emulate.
With how horrible the STL Cardinals are playing this season he shouldn't have retired yet...Its sad it took 11 years for a reunion, who knows what he could've done staying his whole career in STL...He was by far a Great STL Cardinal..Only Stan Musial has more homers as a STL Cardinals player than Albert Pujols...
Best players I Ever pitched against ....Gregg Jefferies, Pops Mitchell, Barry Bonds, Matt Williams... in that order and I took Carson City's Matty deep and hit a HR off Walnut Creek's Big Unit well.....

Chris Carpenter mid to late 2000s... Nobody better.
And Albert, he's the best.

Where did you see them?
All due respect to Lou Brock, you never saw Rickey Henderson?

@@demfan oh well I stand corrected then. Either way it's not a record you'd look at and expect a Cy Young.
Albert pujols🇩🇴 grande de los nuestros
As a cubs fan I’ve never been able to enjoy Pujols greatness and honestly I still can’t even though he is retired he dominated my team too much 😂😂😂😂
Surprised Pedro Martinez wasn't his most difficult pitcher faced
They probably didn’t duel each other that often, since he did say having more at-bats with King Felix is what led to Albert choosing him.
A lot of his ABs against him we're definitely when Pedro was passed his prime

If Trout can play till he’s 40 I would say he’s one of the best forsure! Albert will go down as one of the best hitters tho!

He is one of the best players ever! Amazing cardinal!

Thanks Tio Albert 🙏
The best hitter: Barry Bonds. Best athlete: Bo Jackson. The best pitcher: Randy Johnson
heard it here first boys, fish man good
Miguel Cabrera y Felix Hernandez 🇻🇪
Hay si hay 💪⚾️
Albert come back and finish out your home run record
Jesser got a and one on him
I love Pujol's because he is one of the greats in baseball, but he needs to shave his head and go back to being bald😂
Machine
Didnt expect to see felix as the nastiest pitcher
Oh! Dos venezolanos en su lista!
No, Trout is not better than you Albert

Maybe not a better hitter, but indeed Trout has been better overall than Albert, which is saying something.
