Finally, the review does not target 1% top end users. OLEDs are great but most of people buy LCD because of PRICE. Please give us more LCD reviews, they are really needed.
Also, OLED reviews are insanely boring. We already know that every OLED is going to be a chart topper just by nature of how they work. It's almost impossible to eff up an OLED purchase.
I just got a 240hz oled for $500 brand new. I wouldn't call that "1% top end"
@@bingbongwingwongWhich one? That’s the price I’m targeting
But if you want the best 1440p LCD right now, I'd go with the KTC M27T20, 576 zone backlight 180hz hdr 1000 it was on sale for $300 last week. There's also a Sceptre 240hz 24in 1080p monitor for $130 which is pretty insane.
@@VorexiaThe KTC G27P6. I have heard that outside of the US, this monitor is difficult to get your hands on, however. Mine arrived a few days ago, and with the new RTX HDR filter, it just makes every game look incredible. I managed to get mine from the KTC store on Amazon by glitching a coupon and then just removing the promo product from my cart but the coupon still applied. Your results may vary.
Pinch me, I must be dreaming. MUB reviewing something other than OLED? Must be a dream.
you must be new
@@HSGG_ 90% of their videos this past year or so have been about oled monitors
@skweezyguy1567 I can't blame them. Not only are they the current trend for new monitors and thus have a LOT of requests on videos for Tim's input, but most of the comments I see on videos mention nothing about "eww, another OLED that we already know the response rate and color accuracy".
Maybe it's a YT algorithm problem with showing positive comments significantly more than negative comments. Maybe people just didn't say anything until this video. Genuinely not sure where all these comments came from.
@@moldyshishkabob they've been on a lot of recent videos. OLED reviews were fine at first, but it's oversaturated now with OLED.
@moldyshishkabob Because most of us who can't deal with any burn in, or those who can't afford the OLED skip those videos. I tend to ignore the video if it has OLED in the title, as the vast majority of videos in the last year have. So if we don't watch the video, we don't get into it to leave a comment.
As someone who does video and photo editing as a hobby, monitors that are already well calibrated are an absolute godsend, glad to see more manufacturers focusing on that.
Thankyou for not reviewing another OLED
at some point humanity rose above and away from religion, because religion has a ceiling that just keeps you down
@@StevoHDA i see otherwise
for now
I'm sure OLED are better for gaming but I also need my monitor to work at home. Unless I go for the ultimate with 2 monitors on wall mounts...
@@robertr.1879 OLEDs also cost like at least 3× as much as this monitor where I live, so it's definitely a no from me.
Always appreciate both thoroughness and also the attempt to make these topics as approachable as possible to consumers. Thanks again for your work!
Got this monitor for $200 on sale from Amazon. Very good build quality for the price, and overall specs were decent. Satisfied with it, even over my M27Q-P. Feels much more premium overall. Brightness is a little below what I expected but it’s still very good. For $200 I don’t think it really could be beat.
Heck yea! i was hoping you'd review this one at some point. I had picked one of these up after my monitor died and it has seemed like a solid all arounder without giving up too much in any direction (good color, good refresh, good motion) while not breaking the bank! Glad to see its full review and now I can rec it to friends as well! Thank you for doing these more affordable screens!
I'm about to buy this monitor yesterday but feel like I need to watch some more review in youtube. Well well well, MUB video just came at the right time! Thankies!
Damn Monitors Unboxed reviewing something other than OLED monitor? That’s new
Back to Back videos? Man I could get used to this!!!
Nice to see something other than OLED :)
Out of interest, I've put the ROG Strix XG27WCMS on my watchlist. It would be cool to see a detailed review of it too ;)
I'M happy to see IPS monitor reviews. Because most of PC users out there have a single monitor setup and they do everything on that PC : browsing the web, spreadsheets, view videos AND gaming. This is the most comon gaming setup out there. Therefore, OLED is out of the question because of burning issue AND a lack of text clarity. So thank you to FINALY consider that.
I personally use my OLED for everything, but I've accepted that it will eventually burn in. Text clarity is absolute ass though, but it is what it is. I figured it will last me 3 years or so until hopefully there are some massive improvements in the mini LED space in terms of local dimming algorithms and response times. But we'll see.
Let's not forget the VRR issue with OLEDS which renders it completely moot considering how much they cost. At that price VRR flickering shouldn't be an issue.
Exactly why I went with mini LED for my monitor that I use 90% for work (Lenovo Legion Y34wz-30)
it was quite pricey but had all the cute little features (like hassle free kvm switch, PD, 165 hz uwqhd) which I was looking for. Burn in would be terrible with all the Excel bullshit I'm dealing with daily!
It’s not “out of the question” stop acting like you’re instantly going to get burn in, all those things you said are perfect for OLED
@@zfacersane272 I talk about what i experienced with an OLED. So, If you dont care to see ghosting in the taskbar area, then be it. But i hate that.
I remember first seeing this monitor on my notifications and local stores, would have totally skipped it if not for this review!? I would've almost lost out going for an LG option instead!
Thanks HUB for finally getting back to the budget class of monitors
Finally another trustworthy review of this monitor. Been waiting for months for your review since i discovered and chose this monitor for my planned build. At the time of discovery, the only trustworthy review i found of this monitor is from TechteamGB iirc, and his review of this monitor is positive. Another good thing is that the price of this monitor is decreasing rapidly in my country, though still more expensive compared to similarly specced monitors, such as Gigabyte GS27Q and the AOC Q27G4, but i'll take that factory color calibration premium. Great work as always, keep it up!
Just got this monitor 2 days ago and its amazing. no problems or complaints.
Any experience with the AOC Q27G3XMN? Trying to decide between these 2
@@CargoShorts7 Esports and don't care about HDR? Go with the ASUS. HDR and don't really care about response times? Go with AOC.
Thanks for a normal range monitor review. Still have my 1440P 32 but it's nice to see what is out there.
Great to see budget LCDs continuing to improve. I'm not looking to shell out four figures for a monitor, as I simply don't use my monitor often enough to justify it, but am shopping for a resolution + refresh rate upgrade.
I was waiting for this review, the monitor catched my eye when it came out.
Great review. Next up XG27UCS 4k variant maybe ?
We definitely need more reviews of monitors that people are actually able to afford such as this
I would love to see more reviews about value-oriented, cheaper, not super crazy high-end monitors!
I picked this up based on your review. Thank you! Its great!
Hi. Did you hear any coil whine? Especially from the back of the monitor when it's turn off.
Whaaaaat? Is this an issue with this monitor? Didnt even know that could happen @@iceberg20mr
Seeing a ROG in this price range, and with an actually really good performance, is so unreal!
We need more 'candidates' for the 1440p budget battle!
Great job Tim, it was a very nice review, as always!
Great Review! I'm waiting for your next review on the Samsung Odyssey G8 OLED 32inch 4K 240hz Monitor if you ever get the chance.
Wow, finally a budget monitor with variable overdrive and great SRGB mode out of the box. From Asus too surprisingly. I always thought they were too "premium" of a brand to release something this good at the budget level. This is definitely my next monitor to get whenever my current ones break. Thanks for the great review as always!
Great review! Between this and the ASUS XG27AQMR (which you also reviewed), which would you pick? The latter costs $200 more - is that worth it for the higher refresh rate and DisplayHDR 600?
Finally! A reasonable monitor at a budget price that is actually on sale In Australia. I'd better go get one quick!
You need to do a video on the awful quality control that is plaguing the monitor industry. What's the point of watching reviews to select a product to buy only to find that almost every unit from every brand has backlight bleed and dead pixels and so do the units delivered as replacement after RMA headaches. Unless you spend $1300 on EIZO products you are playing lottery at every price point from $250-$600. This needs to stop.
Agreed
Same
Is there any chance you could review the ultra budget brands like Pixio, Koorui, HKC and the like?
Is this one a better option than the revised version of the popular MSI mag 274QRF QD E2 ?
Will you be able to do a review on the PG32UQXR? It would be greatly appreciated. I am considering buying this monitor for my next PC build. Thanks for the videos. I appreciate the time and effort.
No oled. Anyone, please check the thermometer in hell!
ive had this monitor for around 2 months, other than not having a usb hub, i love it so far.
Yo, any backlight bleed?
hey, may i ask if it supports 2k for the ps5?
Goddamnit. This was one of the options I was looking at a couple of months ago and I knew I should've went for this monitor instead.
Nice review! Can you tell the difference to the Asus VG27AQL3A?
Great review and recommendation. The question is, is it worth $120 AUD more than the MSI G274QPF E2?
Would be nice if you guys got your hands on an MSI G272QPF, it released a year ago and there are still no good reviews on it
What do you think about the Titan Army P25a2h? I have seen some reviews but i wish to know your opinion 🙏
Thanks for the effort, I know you work hard at these reviews. Personally, I havee suspended even considering any asus products until they have a minimum 2-year history of not screwiong customers.
Will you be reviewing the Samsung G60SD OLED anytime soon? Just purchased it and would love to see you review it!
I'm kind of in between the Asus VG27AQML1A and this one, which one would you prefer?
Is it possible to get Xiaomi Redmi G Pro 27" display from Aliexpress to AU? Great budget (or mid-range) monitor with 1152 mini-led zones and true 1000 HDR. But too little information about performance and stuff
Holy. Just found this monitor in time and It is even on sale in my country and costs around 200USD when converted. Gonna snatch one before it goes out of stock
If I wanted to upgrade from the gigabyte m27q-p, what would y’all recommend? I guess my budget cap is approx $600. Ty for any feedback!
Is this a good sub 300 local dimming monitor? The aoc g3xmn is phased out by a cheaped out newer g4.
Are there any 32 inch 4K LCD monitors you’d recommend? I want something to double as a productivity monitor with decent refresh rate and response times
In the future will you review more mini LED monitors from less known brands? In europe for example amazon offers mini LED monitors from brands like Koorui and KTC but it's really hard to find in depth reviews around the internet
this seems better than the MSI G274QPX in terms of response times and ghosting but less so in color along with being 180hz only. Do you think the 240hz MSI is better overall?
nice review and nice montior by asus. Love the competition in this price bracket
is the display and performance is very noticable compred to MSI G274QPF-QD and Gigabyte M27Q P? thanks
I just ordered it, in a big part thanks to this video, snagged it for $199.99 for Amazon prime day, I'll leave my updated thoughts when I get it on Thursday
just got it at 8am this morning, so far I can definitely tell that the colors are beautiful on this panel, and it's buttery smooth, I gotta spend some more time with it, but so far it's great, and it's my first monitor past an old 1080p 60hz one lol
Thanks for targeting a product outside high-end oleds 🙌🏼
Each time I see that Cincinnati skyline, it reminds me that I don't want to live there again. Nice photo, though.
Is this worth getting over MSI G274QPX or LG 27GP83B ? I mainly play FPS games like CS2 and Valorant. I want the competitive advantage since this monitor is 180hz i was looking if it would be better to go with 240hz. Any thoughts?
I bought this monitor and it seems to be new, no signs of being returned. But it did not come with color calibration e-report, what's up with that. It also almost doesn't have any light bleed. The matte finish feels sparkly to me as well. No other issues with it so far.
Please make a comparison video against the similarly priced but also very competitive MSI MAG 274QRF QD E2!
Would love to see the best 1440p 240hz ips monitor for gaming
agreed, I'm sort of torn between budget options this Asus XG27ACS (even though its 180hz), MSI G274QPX (240), Gigabyte M27PQX (240) (rev 1.0 or 2.0)
@@riazali4362 Monitor Unboxed has highly recommended both the ones you mentioned as budget 240hz 1440p if you haven't noticed (he seemed more inclined to Gigabyte ones). Hope it helps :)
Maybe the HP 27qs ?
@@trueborn7323 Its a good option but Id rather stick to those three for a few dollars more they are quite a bit better, also the AOC Q27G3XMN. So there are 4 to choose from and I need 2. I might get one VA and then one LCD.
coming soon XG27ACMG
how good is the MSI G255PF E2 ? (budget monitor) compared to AOC 24G4X ?
i just ordered this monitor, cant wait for it to arive :))))
Would you mind doing an ultra wide version of this? We just got ultra wide monitors at work and I’d like to upgrade my home monitor to an ultra wide for gaming and work purposes. Thanks for the affordable reviews!
I would love if u guys can show what settings you used while calibrating it and what brigthness. Does someone reading it have recommended settings for this monitor?
Do you have the G80SD also on the list to review?
Hi, does this monitor has RGB or BRG subpixel layout?
What about the ASUS ROG Strix XG259CM? Is it a good budget friendly option? Greetings
Can't decide between this monitor and MSI MAG 274QRF-QD E2. Which is better?
Acer SA272U E and Cooler Master GA271 - cheap 1440p monitors. Are they good?
could you please try xg259qn / qns? or the budget variants xg259cm / cms!
I want to upgrade from 1080 p 240hz Dell monitor. It's a pretty nice monitor but i feel like I'm ready for QHD and don't know what to choose. OLED still feels very pricy for me. But my concern is that if i buy IPS one i won't see a big change between the old and the new one. What to do?
And what's the difference between this Asus and other monitors that use NANO IPS or quantum dots techs?
Can you review the ASUS TUF VG27AQML1A? Its a 1440p IPS 240hz monitor. I wanted to compare it with this one.
Any chance for reviewing Dell U2724D with IPS Black panel monitor?
That monitor looks beautiful which i cant say the same for many others.
Is there any latency penalty using BFI and BFI with Adaptive Sync?
Now I am debating between this and the MSI G274QPX
Great video 👍🏻
lg27gp850-b or rog strix xg27acs which one would you prefer
What a great performing value monitor! Especially the colour accurate sRGB mode! Do you think you could review more Dell monitors, such as the G2724D- would be interesting to see how this one compares, with your methodologies.
I'm thinking of buying that monitor I hope they review it seems like a really solid deal if no issues
great vid, gonna save for later
Is this also a better choice than the LG 27GR83Q?
Does it have a VESA mount ? I haven't seen anything about being able to mount it on an arm
I’d like to see the AOC Q27G4X ($200) to be compared with this Asus monitor. How much noticeable difference will we see for $90? Also, I am planning to buy the AOC monitor
Does anyone know if MonitorsUnboxed will cover the M105 Dolby Vision update for the Asus pg32ucdm monitor?
Please review the Xiaomi Gaming Monitor G Pro 27i Mini LED or the Redmi Display G Pro 27 IPS MiniLED if it is a good alternative for the AOC Q27G3XMN
Great review as always.
What would you recommend choosing vs. the older LG 32GP850 at the same price? Also considering the bigger size of the latter.
go watch the best monitors for 2024 they released a few days ago
@@centuryt3043 Cheers 👍
Hi Tim, are you going to review Samsung G60SD?
Does anybody know how this monitor compares to my 8 year old high-end 144 Hz Asus PG279Q? Are there noticeable improvements in response times, colour accuracy, IPS glow and backlight bleed? In other words, is upgrading worth it? Thanks.
You gotta review the WCS which is the VA panel version of this monitor
Could you review the 32 inch Samsung odyssey g6, it’s got a VA panel with 240hz refresh rate
Asus ROG Strix XG27ACS 27-Inch IPS 180Hz QHD Gaming Monitor // MSI MAG 274QRF QD E2 27-Inch 180Hz IPS WQHD Gaming Monitor
which one do you prefer to buy? Please give some specific points if you could. Thanks in advance
There is also a 4k version Asus xg27ucs with a reasonable price. I am not multiplayer fps gamer so my best choice is AOC Q27G3XMN but it is not on sale in my country.
I wanna finally change to 1440p, but I'm not sure how it will change my FPS games expierence. How those monitors work with games like CS2, Valorant, Apex or Warzone. Is it better to change to 1080p resolution in CS2? I know in other games and stuff I would love it.
Let me know when there is an oled, 38"+ (40, 42, 49) panel 21:9, 3840*1600 or 5120*2160, with 1ms, and ppi > 105
Hey guys, would you mind doing a review for Xiaomi's new UW monitor - G34WQi.
You've reviewed their older model, would like to check how it stacks with other monitors
*Do the same review on MSI MAG 274QRF-QD E2.*
Please.
Mine arrived and it has either dead pixels or dust, slap bang in the centre of it.
Contrast ratio in sRGB Cal and sRGB colourspace was around 980:1, which seemed poor.
Setting the refresh rate to 180hz seemed to cause the display to just randomly go black, 165hz and below seemed fine.
It's on its way back, I've ordered another. Hopefully I just had a duff unit!
Has your new monitor arrived? how's the second one?
Tim, pls compare it to MSI MAG 274QRF-QD E2
just went $199 por prime days, waiting for it!
FUCK
Should you get a bad 240hz monitor vs a good 180hz monitor if you are playing FPS games
What is your thoughts on ( ANTGAMER ANT27VU )
i just got this monitor. a few days ago and first thing first its really awesome. Upgraded from a MSI mag 240hz ips and i wanted something that was as clear in motion and as colour accurate. The Asus its an upgrade for sure. Super clear in motion and no weird artifacts and maybe you lose a tiny bit of micro detail in really fast moving objects in games but who cares like i said its just a very tiny bit. Also, I'm in a dark room all the time with minimal sunlight/light and doesn't blind me to get the results I'm looking for and the blacks is also darker than my previous MSI that i mentioned earlier. it just does things so well for the minute Con. the stand! i love that its stand is also has a small footprint on my desk so there's less clutter. although, it would've been nice with a more powerful usb type c port so i can charge my phone with it quicker but still works just fine. Cant wait to get a ps5 so i can have that same experience with console gaming because that 120hz 1440p 5.7ms with no ghosting seems so nice, also just so nice knowing that it can achieve that even without it being a hdmi2.1. Thanks for the review I'm very happy with my new monitor! its ultra fast, the colours are accurate and vibrant, and takes up minimal desk space 🤠thought id write a long message about it for anyone wondering about it from a consumer POV, and appreciation for Monitors Unboxed sees it because the work is actually goated and to say to Monitors Unboxed and big thank you again. alright, I'm done glazing 🤣 ✌✌✌
forgot to also mention that there was no dead pixels, and no weird backlight bleed.
@@masterbeef92 thanks for mentioning no backlight bleed, might actually pull the plug on this one after returning aw2723df 2 times
@@masterbeef92 Hi. How about coil whine? Some people are complaining about this. Mine has too, but not so loud.
Some do have backlight bleed, there is a chance. I just got this from Amazon and mine has some. It's not terribly bad but it does exist.
@@iceberg20mr is there any noise from my monitor? Then no, it's silent
Great review. I'm planning to upgrade from my ancient 1080P 60Hz to one of those two: AOC Q27G3XMN or Strix XG27ACS. In Romania, those two are almost same price, with AOC being around 50$ more expensive. As my single monitor for casual single player gaming and work from home (programming), which one do you think it's better suited? I'm thinking here @ text clarity.
I might go for aoc just for that hdr feature for casual single gaming, but it is better for you to go and try it both first from any nearby stores
I just returned the AOC and ordered the Strix. The AOC was decent, but it was hard to dial in the colors. My unit had bad color shifting and had a redish tint that I just couldn't seem to dial out. I also would see scan lines on some colors/objects. To me at least, HDR always seems like more of a hassle to use on Windows than just getting straight to playing and enjoying a game. Could've just been my particular unit, but that was my experience. Hoping that the Strix will be a better fit
