    Britain for many decades has not invested in flood defences, and more importantly land reclomation. We need also need to dredge our rivers , so they can absorb more water. We should consult the experts in land reclomation, the Dutch. This must be a priority..

      Well if people stopped denying climate change exists then we may be able to do something about it. But it won’t change, we are too immature

      @@ItsaSimulation it’s not like the people will take control of their country, would rather these depots ruin it for them for some peculiar reason.

    Having watched for the last 50 odd years and discussed this many times you start to see patterns, lol
    I could easily be wrong, and if I am, so be it, but, I would say stop building on flood plains, dredge rivers instead of building their sides up which just moves the problem somewhere else, spend some time on getting land drainage sorted properly rather than cheaping out and ignoring it.
    Clearly what we have been doing for a while now isn't working, it's making it worse, so maybe try a different approach.

    Great stuff .this is what happens when you build near water.

    Don't build next to a large river with the second highest tidal fall and rise in the world, this has been happening all my life, keep on building new houses on flood plains doesn't help the situation either.

      In 2023, the destruction on the planet reached a new level. The world was shaken by devastating and abnormal earthquakes, a huge number of red auroras in unusual places, abnormal heating of the ocean, Category 5 hurricanes, wildfires covering half the planet, rivers and lakes massively disappearing, droughts changing with large-scale floods, volcanoes becoming active.
      Over the last 30 years, the climate has changed catastrophically. The cause of this is the cosmic cycle of 12000 years. The same changes are happening now on all planets of the solar system.
      From the end of 2024, the number and scale of natural disasters will increase many times over. And if we do nothing now, it will be impossible to live on the planet in 5-7 years. And not later than 2036 catastrophe will occur, which will turn the Earth into a planet like Mars.
      We still have a chance to save the planet and humankind. The analytical report and ways to solve the problem are voiced here: "Global Crisis. The Responsibility" (online forum).

    County Councils across the UK are responsible for much of this. Seems maintaining DREDGED DITCHES is not as important as handing out contracts to waste management corporations, highway management monopolies and area govt. housing contractors. Dredge the ditches and shore up flood walls.

    • @SamWilkinsonn
      @SamWilkinsonn Před 7 měsíci

      Dredging the rivers is merely a plaster on a worsening wound. It’s only going to get worse from here. But if blaming councils helps you cope with or impending demise then so be it.

      They need new houses for the immigrants 😂 41% That live in Leicester are British, 59% are different etnicity mainly from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh and Poland. 🙄
      EDIT: Doesn't help neither when Soulsby Leicester Mayor doesn't like building tall residential building's like they're doing in other major UK cities.

    What's going to happen when insurance companies finally decide to say 'no more insurance cover', because areas like this flood more and more. There will be areas of the country left uninhabitable.

    Floods like this have happened in the UK for years & years and yet the authorities do nothing to prevent it happening again. The onus is on our elected officials who don't want to fork out to improve our sewage systems.
