Thank you very much for this video, my problem occurred when a thinner wire broke from the engine starter, and this problem forced me to disconnect the battery clampss battery, which caused the same problem identical to yours, checking all fuses and relays I was not even close solutions, and then you cheered me up, I am very grateful to you, you helped a lot as I see many people, most of whom do not even leave, I like

Thanks for the video! I just returned home (to the US) after 4 months overseas again and my 2011 BMW 128i's battery was nearly dead. I jump started it but now my turn indicators, door locks and windows don't work, and I have the "electronics failure" icon on the dash. Looks like the exact same issue you had. Going to see if I can get BMW to sort it out as part of the electronics recall; if not I guess I'll be buying a new module on eBay. Thanks again for the info!

Be mindful that modules are custom to your spec of vehicle. So even if you buy it, you may find some functions don't work because the frm thinks you have a different spec vehicle. You'll have to either get it reprogrammed to your spec or do as above with your original one

Sorry I thought I'd just add that, in the US there is a recall on the frm module itself. The European counterparts weren't so lucky.

Hi and thank you for this video. I ve got now for the second time in 6 month this issue. My FRM was out of order after battery disconnection for timing chane rep, sent it to out for a reflash and it works fine untill my battery died end of last week. Put in a new AGM bat and registered it with Ista-D, now the FRM is out of order again. Car is an E87 118d 2010, will I have to reflash each time wenn I disconnect the battery or when I connect the car to my computer? Is ther no possibility to modify the paramaters in FRM in order to desable this counter ?
    Thx for your reply.
    Rgds.

I think it's a coincidence that this happens when you change battery. There is a counter I believe when it reaches 75? Then it short circuits. You can reset the the counter of you have the cable using ncpexpert
