Tekken 8 (Japanese: 鉄拳8) is an upcoming fighting game co-developed by Bandai Namco Studios and Arika and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The eighth main and tenth overall installment in the Tekken series, the game is set to be released on January 26, 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows.
Set six months after the events of Tekken 7, the game will focus on the final confrontation between father and son Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama, the latter of who wants to kill the former to end the chaos from their lineage.
Fist Meets Fate in TEKKEN 8. Holding a record for the longest-running video game storyline, the TEKKEN series begins a new chapter as TEKKEN 8 continues the tragic saga of the Mishima and Kazama bloodlines, and their world-shaking father-and-son grudge matches starting from 6 months after the closure of the last match. You can understand why Kazuya is so angry. He was pulled out of a volcano and brought backed to life to find his woman was "dead", his son wanted to fight him and the dad who threw him in the volcano in the first place was taking over the world. I'd be pissed too.
Kazuya brought Jin's hatred upon himself working with Heihachi and psychologically torturing him. He doesn't get a pass
Problem for me with kazuya is the same I had with tsuffurian in dragon ball gt. They both have legitimate reasons to be bitter but they instead become generic villains bent on world domination, which doesn't have anything to do with their bitterness
Well, he is still a psychopath at heart that will do anything to accomplish control over everything, so not much has changed.

@@barbadmoghassem7101 Humans can do heinous shit (or change) don't deflect blames to devil blood (and the story literally shows devil gene can be used for good as Jin shows), and Heihachi already wanted to rule the world and imprisoned Jinpachi to take over Zaibatsu before turning abusive on Kazuya.

They TEASED us BAD in Tekken 8 with Jun. she didn't interact with Jin or Kazuya in the main story mode or her ending. Just visions of her ooft they are SICK for that. Hopefully Tekken 9 she gets her wish.
I'm just glad she's confirmed to be alive at this point. Hopefully more interaction with her niece Asuka as well.
It was just fine. I love how sparingly they used her in the story; they only used her when it really meant something.

I guess it was on purpose. Part of Jun's character is being mysterious and I think in previous games it was stated that her mysteriousness was part of what attracted Kazuya to Jun (this game added another reason with him being attracted to her strength)

I have a feeling that Jun may recovered Kazuya right after his fight with Jin. A continuation of this scene will probably be seen in Tekken 9, which will probably take another 5-10 years in the making.

The perfect depiction of the focus of the warrior in the calmness of mother nature. So much symbolism in this scene. The epithome of martial art. Then followed by finally after 28 years of wait the reunion of Jin and Jun having a mother-son moment filled with laugher and joy.

It's honestly amazing! How can she love a maan like him! He's a monster but looking at T7 shows Kazuya is just a tragic hero.. only as a child he was good
Tekken 8 did an amazing job remixing and reusing BGM from past games. It really fits the theme of the game. Using an arrangement of "Heavenly Garden" from TTT2 is amazing fan service and most importantly a naturally fit for scene between Jun and Jin.

That was one of my biggest wishes for this story. Not only do we finally have a canon scene with them but Asuka finally learns that she is somewhat related to Jin and Jun. Who knew Lili’s obsession with Asuka would lead to this 😅

@@aryshandono3249 it does explain in tekken 8 that their are number of individuals who became servants of Azazel. One of those servants could have been the founder of the hachijio clan.
The hachijos weren’t the only people with the devil gene. If you peep what Leo’s father was saying; azazel gave people around the world a piece of his power to be his servants

You know, I completely forgot about Angel from Tekken 2, this game sort of retcons and remade it to be Jun's role the more I played her. Kind of a stretch, but that last shot in Jin's Tekken 4 ending with the white feather made much more sense if she's part angel this whole time. Instead of that weird Unknown non canon role she had in Tag series. It also saddens me that since Jun has a much bigger role compared to Asuka, the one that replaced Jun, she got completely sidelined in the story when she's a Kazama herself.

Good news, more side stories will be added in the DLC content next week with Jun in them. Tekken 8 is following the example of Alan Wake 2 after few weeks of release
Before the game came out i thought she is alive and in the coporeal plane like the rest and she can freely roam in this world. Turn out that she is indeeed alive but her body is preserved and hidden away from the coporeal plane and her consciousness is trapped in the mental realm. She still cant come back into reality yet. 😢

She awakened likely between the final battle of Kazuya and Jin, and she got to take care of Kazuya unconscious.
She met kazuya briefly in the ethereal plane while he was defeated by Jin and was deeply unconscious. The couple will be separate again when kazuya return back from unconsciousness. Jun is now only alive in spiritual and consciousness form in the spiritual plane. Her body was defeated and damaged by orge when she tried to protect Jin and the holy land preserve and kept her consciousness from fading away along with her body.

So how did jun know kazuya was alive after she defeated ogre? How did ogre escape from the shrine?
Ugh harada and his retcons
They tell you she defeated the ogre with some type of power that has to do with that cave. She was injured and weak after fighting with ogre and fell to some animated suspension in the cave to recover or something like that. But they did explain when I plan her story after beating the game.

She has not been confirmed dead since Tekken 3. She was always mentioned as missing in action. Tekken 8 answered the question about what happened to her during the Ogre incident. She lured Ogre into an ancient Kazama shrine and absorbed all the mystical powers flowing into her to drive Ogre off Yakushima Island (Kazama's home island). After that, Jun followed a voice and led her to an altar. She fell asleep there for many years until Tekken 8.
So technically it is not a Retcon but an additional detail to the story.

Jins arc finished though. It's either Reina being Protagonist/Antagonist for T9 or Kazuya getting a redemption arc which could put him back to being the main protagonist again maybe.
