LOL…..He's got that whole 'tough guy from the streets' thing going on. I can't stand guys like that. I think they are, at their core, very insecure, but try to compensate by acting all ALPHA.

AnthonyJ74 difference is, hes not acting alpha, he just really is. the guy fights trained killers for a living and reached the pinnacle of the sport. he was one of the best fighters ever in his prime and still is a damn good one

C'mon...you can't fault him for that. In fact, I respect his honesty when explaining his reasons why he turned it down. Apparently, several other fights offered to Mitrione were turned down by his prospective opponents. So, I guess he got a little creative & offered to fight a big name fighter who's been also looking for a stand-up fight like Mitrione has been. I get your point, but I get Meat's point as well...
Mitrione breaks Rampage . He would do worse than what Texiera did and would actually get the TKO . That would be the most power Rampage ever felt in his career .

It means to meet in the middle. So for example if someone fight at 165, and someone else fights at 205, theyll fight at 185 or 175 to make it fair.
I don't think anyone should call out middle ranked fighters, if you don't think you're good enough to call out the champ, then keep your mouth shut. Just ask for any fight, and fight until you think you are ready to face the champ.

Well, how could you blame him? He knows he's just going to be "that first opponent" of a debuting star from another promotion.
We disagree because as a fighter you have to callout other fighters not just the champ. The strategy is to find the highest paid fight you can get with a fighter you matchup well against. For example Mitrione would get nothing out of calling out the champ because that fight wouldnt happen. Calling out Rampage is a better move for him than just fighting anyone. Rampage is a higher profile name therfore more money and cred for Mitrione.
In 2013? Probably. But Rampage has achieved much more and partaken in more legendary fights than Mitrione ever will.

Matt was pissed at Rampage because he flirted with his wife, and now he had the opportunity to start beef and call him out to a fight.
He's basically calling out whoever will make him the most money. There arent that many big names in the HW division anymore. Plus the two weigh the same anyways its just that rampage goes through the whole dehydration weight cutting process.

The UFC should of made a catch weight fight between M. Mitrione vs. R. Jackson.
Rampage would still lace Mitrione regardless of what anyone says about him being old or washed up. Mitrione would try to stand with him, like he said and would get knocked out. Rampage is a much more fluid striker, knows his motions and where his power comes best from Mitrione is still spastic and not as confident with his movements.

It was a smart move considering daniel is way better than mitrione. This is a sport of skill and technique. Its not how people think that you should just fight anyone anytime. Daniels a beast.

It already is dude and has been for years, this is what makes fights interesting and sells tickets. The only difference is the in ring part, although in the PRIDE days the fights were fixed so they were the exact same sport. Even Boxing does this because it's the way to make money.
Rampage fights at 205 but if he didn't have to cut any weight he'd probably only be 15-20 pounds smaller than Mitrione
Of course its makes sense. HE's coming off of 3 surgeries and needs an easier fight and more time to improve his skills. Daniel is a freaking beast and way better than matt right now.
