- Hey guys! In todays video you'll see that I took a big Monday morning L...
in an attempt to go to work my fuel pump decided that today was its last day. So Ben and I replaced it and made a quick little entertaining video on how its done! Don't forget to like comment and subscribe if you enjoyed the video and take a look at some of our others as well! Thanks!
When you put the new pump into its case BE SURE to see that the o-rings are COMPLETELY SEATED. I installed pumps twice and didn't notice the slight misalignment of one of the o-rings. This caused the pump pressure to be inadequate to keep the bike running. Lesson learned.
Also please tell me about the issue you were facing before changing it!
The bike wouldn’t hold idle or it would cut off while riding
Such a pain in the butt! Y'all did a great job! Good instructional video! 🔥
Sort of in same boat with the pump but think I have bad wire somewhere.
Thanks for the vid, guys. Made my pump swap a lot smoother.
Happy to hear that man 👍🏽 subscribe for more content ✊🏽
this is the fuel pump guys I installed in my 2007 r6 and it went in no problems

Thanks for that
Can you please tell about the filter and pump? is it OEM and link to buy?
Yamaha r6 fuel pumps are Mitsubishi pumps and they are shit
I crashed my 2019 R6 high side and landed on the tank and wouldn't start took it to the mechanic he couldn't start it took it to Yamaha they couldn't fix it... As it doesn't throw a code So i did it myself
Now what happens with them is if it lands on the tank or its side it can fail theres a small oring inside the pump ⛽ that controls the fuel pressure if the o ring falls out of its seat the pump cant be pressurised 40 psi? and will flood the lower fuel injectors and it will never start let alone run smooth
Fuel pumps are expensive 500 AUD the oring is 1 💵 dollar fix
These pumps are car fuel pumps that are inverted in the bottom of a motocycle tank so a bump a shock or a crash can dislodge the oring
And you have problems..
So look into this before spending big coin
The first sign is if it won't start or jerks if it runs?? will be if you disconnect the fuel hose and the fuel continues to piss out of the fuel nipple outlet and it shouldnt it sgould weep about 5ml of fuel you have a failed oring... Hope that helps someone...
So the oring is inside the pump itself? So no way to change it/ reseat it?
is repair possible tho
Hi just want to because I just broke my fuel pump just only the case the pump inside is okay I mean I drop my tank and the Cable from the gasoline is damage so I need to change I saw you open the top and there is long plastic like you put the cable I hope you understand what I mean check in 3:06 vid that’s the thing I broke I try to put epoxy
today i open and fix the motor...
was stuck...
it works ok 3.5 bar...
My problem now is the battery becasue broken after 16 years :-(
I’m about to order this fuel pump, how is it currently working for you?
It’s working great! Bike is running strong
Can you give a link to the pump you purchase so I make sure I got the right one?
@@ShrugMedia what’s the name of the fuel pump??
do you have video sound of your bike before repair it? can you share?
Unfortunately no
So no increase on power?
What was the actual problem? So when riding, I come to a stop light this bike would just die. Do you think this would be the problem?
Could be that or maybe an electrical issue
@@ShrugMedia so far I’m leaning on fuel pump or clutch switch. I get my bike back this week. So ima take a look. I ordered the parts he has new switch and new ecu. I heard sometimes they go bad. But ima start with the clutch switch. Last would be ecu. If none of that works ima sell the bike. I bet it’s something simple too.
Sup bro I have a 08 my bike cut off when I was doing like a 100 lol when I turn the switch on I hear nothing b4 I use to hear the fuel pump now nothing do u think I need a new fuel pump or just a fuel relay ????
I’d recommend replacing both just to make sure. They both more than likely have never been replaced so it wouldn’t be a bad idea to go ahead and refresh them both
Thanks a lot bro imma just change the fuel pump I have no idea where the relay is I found a brand new fuel pump for 10 cash!!!!! Order it 😎 lol
What year? Also part number?
MPN:HFP-382-Y
Not sure but maybe is
Quantum T35
not T35 its this one MPN:HFP-382-Y
T35 will not sit in housing
Yo bro I changed the fuel pump and it still won’t start
Sorry to hear that. Maybe try further diagnoses
Thanks for trying but you left out a bunch of steps like assembling the new pieces to the pump.
Glad the video was somewhat useful
@@ShrugMedia you left out all the fun parts. Anyway the new pump isn't working correctly. I'll put the old one back in and test it. I might have bought a bad pump.
That would definitely suck if the new pump is bad but you might have a whole different issue. Do some diagnosing and let us know what you find ✊🏽
@@ShrugMedia the pump has been operating intermittently, shutting off sometimes at speed, and sometimes when just starting the bike it doesn't come on. I didn't notice any wiring issues so I bought a new $50 pump off ebay. Other than breathing the gas fumes and trying to figure out how it comes apart and goes together it wasn't too bad, but really disappointed when all the bike will do now is idle. The pump doesn't sound at all like the stock pump either. You heard of people having issues with new fuel pumps?
Haven’t heard of anyone having issues with new pumps. Might be a long shot but maybe buying an OEM pump might solve the issue. Or try checking your injectors.
This moto isnt work smooth, why?
?
@@ShrugMedia rpm fluctuates
