Mike Einziger seriously scary good musician. Coming from a seasoned guitarist, his playing is not of this generation. He’s ahead of his time. His concept of intervals and unique chord inversions is second to none
I concur. He's underrated as a guitarist. Dirk Lance (Alex??) was an amazing bassist too

Probably one of the best users of effects I’ve ever heard, particularly phaser, delay and volume swells etc.

When I think about Incubus I only remember good times. Boyd’s vox and Einzinger’s guitars were so dreamlike.
The Warmth, Miss you, and Pardon Me are songs that I truly keep close to heart.
I saw Incubus and 311 in 1999 on their "Make yourself' tour. I wasn't very familiar with them then, but holy shit man! Most bad ass show I've been to. I love their music still, and definitely made themselves with that tour.

This album literally saved my life, it's the very first album I ever fell deeply in love with, I was 14
I had my first kiss by my first boyfriend to this band, 20 years later were still best friends and when we play this album all the great memories flood back. Brandon Boyds voice is my inspiration to become a singer myself and now my kid is 14, and she's a fan. I absolutely love this band, always♡

Listening to the Make Yourself album was electrifying as well as chill. I went on a huge binge delving through almost the entire discography at one point. Spotify is in the mix, so I'm glad to re-experience it all!!!

I still have my original disc I bought back in 2000 and I really need to get it restored since I played it thousands of times. Same with my Morning View disc, damn those were good and bad times.
I still remember covering Nowhere Fast in my friend's basement when I was 15 yrs old. The first thing I thought when hearing Brandon's voice for the first time was, "He sounds like Anthony Kiedis." I never thought that ever since tho haha.

I have been an incubus fan for about 20 years and I went back the other day and added their music to a playlist for a roadtrip.
As I was listning to the music on the road I payed a lot more attention to the lyrics.
I went though my spiritual awakening a few years back, so hearing the lyrics with my new ears meant a whole lont more to me. I think what Brian is saying about channeling or going back and realizing the meaning of the lyrics is spot on. When I listned to the songs with new ears I felt that the lyrics were those of an awakened person.
I've been waiting almost 20 years to hear Crowded Elevator live! Please let this be the one.

You're maybe right. They released 8 a few years ago and an EP. But they're always touring. I always see them in Vegas, crazy how some fans I've met fly from Brazil and Australia to see them.
Yeah. I saw em on the tour when honda was sponsoring it and that was amazing for sure I wont deny that. Every one has to let go when its time. That music is just dated and I dont really know what other words but uninteresting amd these comments praise the subpar recent performance like they are heros or something liiiike bruh any first year guitar student can play those chops. Its all just so basic. If it came out today it would be chicks music only i feel. I appreciate the early work up to morning view and it was all inspiring and made me become a dj in a band but they strayed to far

Crazy it's been 20 years, I love Incubus, I actually still have Mike's guitar pick I got from one of the shows.
My first date with my wife was an Incubus show way back in 2000....and we went to the 20 years of Make Yourself show last fall at the Warner in DC. Love this band.
i love there sound..very soothing relaxing tunes..enjoyment and soothing sounds like listing two a wave crash against the beach.. incredible sounds..
I remember I'd bought make yourself cassette album.i am amazed of guitar riffs and effects of stellar the warmth. pardon me and i miss you..I play 10x everyday with a feeling of floating in euphorea.. that was the year 2000..

I was 16 in 2000 when I heard Stellar for the first time. After that I was obsessed with this band. I wanted my guitar playing to sound like Mike’s. I have seen them about 11 times since 2003. After this last concert where they played a lot of filler, I told myself I wouldn’t see them again for a while. But now I’m seeing them play one of my favorite albums ever in it’s entirety in November and I cannot wait.
Such an incredible album!! This tour is gonna be a must-attend!!

listening to this song (Drive) and album while she was pregnant soo.... I've been
listening to Incubus since before I was born. (I'm 19 now)

To be honest, I bought the "When Incubus Attacks" CD at Tower Records because of the robot design on the cover, the local radio rock station didn't even play any Incubus songs at that time. After listening to the CD, I went back to Tower Records and bought the "Make Yourself" CD the following week. Till this day I still have both CD's (as well as other Incubus releases) with me. My favorite song from both albums is "Consequence". It's good to see a band like Incubus make it this far.
God I wish I could tell one day this amazing guys how much their music helped me back in 2000 in a very very bad moment in my life. Thank you Brandon, Thank you Incubus.
I remember being exactly 20 years old going to an Incubus concert for the first time in SF and how beautiful the experience was. The visuals behind each song was like what I experienced many years later on mushrooms. Ahhhhh....anyway....We were all so young back then :)
Pardon Me on some weird sampler CD, was really cool but no clue who the band was. Then Drive on MTV on rotation and finally it clicked, got every album, went to 4 concerts. Best musical phase of my life.
