A Nashville, Tennessee trip to a familiar Goodwill shows an unfamiliar sight when we discover the store is permanently closed! Fortunately, a huge thrift shop we've never seen is just up the street, and it's jammed full of more and better things than the old thrift store ever had.
Southern Thrift becomes our first stop, on a day when thrift stores and antique malls in the big city are our destinations! This massive store has lots of vintage goods, from elegant glass and vintage dinnerware to an Adirondack frame priced too low to be believed. We comb the entire place, and end up with some surprising jewelry finds to boot!
Then it's on to pick up a collector friend to head to the city's last (and biggest) remaining antique mall, so large it has an annex! Gateway Antiques is an elevator ride up to a huge maze of dealer booths, where childhood miniatures, vintage costume jewelry, fine art glass and fun kitsch fill thousands of square feet with finds. We even find a sign we suspect Alex @CuriosityIncorporated sees in his sourcing travels!
We show you how we pick and choose between so many offerings in this video, talk about the good stuff we buy (and some of the good stuff we pass by), snoop at what other people paid for their purchases and celebrate all the fun that is vintage thrifting and antiquing!

its videos like these that killed goodwill and trifling at large. It used to be a trade of years of earned personal knowledge, now game is given away for free creatinting more competition from people who have no decorum and less respect for the hobby.

I’m so lucky! I have my mother’s Chantilly sterling flatware. 12 place settings and a few serving pieces. She bought it in the 60’s. I have TWO granddaughters, so each will get 6 place settings. I will let them flip a quarter to divide up the serving pieces😜
