Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. -Phil 4: 6-7
You have inspired me to go on a thrift hunt for a lamp flip like yours!!! Thank you for sharing!! I’m a new subscriber and I am so glad I found your channel! Your voice is soothing to listen to as well! 💗
OMGsh, this video popped into my feed this evening, and I'm catching up on your channel so had to watch - SO glad I did!! I've been pricing wooden trellis for a big planter box and it's looking like a minimum of $60 to get the set up I want from Home Depot et al. Then I saw this video and that wooden privacy screen and BINGO!!! That would be absolutely perfect, taken apart to make four sections out of it!!! I'm now on the hunt for something similar!!! Thanks!!
Ooh nice idea 💡 I hope you do find one in the near future and can use it! Sounds like it would work 🙂
Beautiful mirror! So glad to have found your channel. I like rescued treasures too. Saving things from the landfill is a lovely thing to do.
Thanks so much! 😊
I just realized we’re all buying perfectly good looking lamps from goodwill so we can paint them to rub dirt on them to make them look like we bought them from the thrift store- but somehow we all think it looks amazing 😂😂
😂 when you put it that way...
@@TashaatHome but it does look amazing for some reason- I can’t pretend it doesn’t lol 😊
Try replacing the glass with non-reflecting glass....makes a huge difference! ❤
Great idea! That occurred to me too and I will look into how much it costs. 😊
Your pumpkin came from the Dollar Store. I have several. Good idea with the spray.
😂 Oh boy so I guess I didn't save any at Goodwill on that one... Oh well! Was it from this year or a previous year?
Your gold framed mirror was a find! It’d be gorgeous painted black too❤
Agreed!
❤ the mirror!
Another really good thrift find with that mirror. Btw, I think the lamp turned out nice!
Thank you! 😊
It is a gorgeous mirror now. Love your cat. Like what you did with the lamp.
Thank you! 😊 That mirror was a lot of work but worth it for the price for sure!
Love the print, you rescued!!
Thanks, Connie!
The lamp looks AWESOME! i love it!
Love the mirror and the vignette with the lamp❤
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing your projects! I love to thrift! New subscriber here!
Welcome!! My channel is brand new so you're joining at a great time 😊 Many more to come 👍🏻
If you can save the print you can paint it varnish 2-3 times. I do this on cavas and oil paintings.
Love the lamp! I’ve been doing a few myself but I’m never quite satisfied with them lol!
I understand, I always feel that way!
Great price for t mirror
Your hallway I would have loved the hammered brass or copper.
Putting mod podge on a picture makes it look more like a painting. 💞
Yeees, I plan to do that soon 🙂 I was going to it on this one actually but after opening it I discovered this print was too brittle and thin to put it on
Great job on the lamp!
Thank you! 😊
Great idea removing the glass from those prints.
I was skeptical about removing the glass, yet it made such a difference. I will need to remember to think about that as an option when looking at frames/prints.
Goo Gone is made to remove things stuck with self adhesive like most stickers these days. Perhaps those that were more difficult to remove were stuck on with something different such as glue or something that needed to be wet first like postage stamps from days gone by.
Good point! I don't know, but it definitely took a lot of effort 😂
You can put a coat of mod podge on your picture to protect it. 💞
Great channel I’m new here really enjoying it! Hello from Canada! Love how that lamp turned out I went to thought to rub dirt on it, and it looked fantastic! I wonder if coffee grounds would have worked?!
Hi, neighbor to the north 👋🏼 ☺️ Yes coffee grounds work well too. It's a little warmer color than soil but not so orangey as clay. Thanks for watching!
❤!
The comment from above regarding changing the type glass on your print is right on the button. You could possibly consider the importance of the print to you. It is exciting to see a new CZcamsr. You have a lot to share and I look forward to new videos to come! Sherry from Alabama.
I'm considering it for that piece since the paper is admittedly old and pretty dry. Thank you for your comments and welcome to the channel!
Beautiful miror
Thank you! I was grateful to find it even though it needed cleaning. Thanks for watching ☺️
I almost always remove the glass from artwork...the glare drives me crazy and so much easier to see the art with it removed. If I'm buying a cheap piece of artwork at the thrift store...I don't want to have to go out and purchase a piece of non-reflecting glass. That would jack up the price...I want the low price.
That has been my experience so far too. While non reflective glass would be nice, I think I'm taking the low cost road for now and just removing it 😉
Next time you need to clean a frame with composition ( the fancy stuff ) , use a toothbrush and some denatured alcohol in small areas at a time, then dry with a lint free rag.
Thanks, great idea 🙂
Hand sanitizer works, too
Can you share where you got your rug for where are you showing the print where you remove the glass? It is gorgeous! thanks so much
It's this one! +Loloi Olive/Charcoal Rug (living room): amzn.to/3tium8H
@@TashaatHome thanks so much, I appreciate it!
Great price for the mirror!!
I think so too! Thanks 😊
Just wondering what is the name/location of the first goodwill in this video?
This was the goodwill in North Durham on roxboro road 😊
Have you considered using coffee grounds instead of soil?
Yes! It works great too and has a nice color. A little warmer than soil but not so orangey as clay. I tried it on something a while back ☺
@@TashaatHometasha u gorgeous
The print is not from the 70s. It's from late 50s early 60s.
Oh really? Wow!
Oil painting or canvas painting should not have glass on it! Typically that is for water color paintings 🖼️
She had a Print ! That needs to go under glass
We don't hv thrift shops in most of Europe...
Interesting! Do you have anything similar like consignment or other secondhand shops?
@@TashaatHome Second hand stores are around but usually they sell clothing. They're not popular...but some with low income will use them.
I would say that IKEA & JYSK are the ones we hv on the cheaper side.
We have charity shops in the UK lots of them ,they sell all the stuff 😂Also car boot sales and garage sales and vintage shops 😊
