    If I'm ever stranded on a desert island with one banjo tune to play for the rest of time, it would be this one: Last Chance. It has such a groovy, spooky and hypnotizing melody. Charm City Junction recorded this one on our debut album back in 2014. You can learn this tune on my brand new TrueFire Channel Clawhammer Corner! I teach a basic and advanced version of the tune phrase by phrase with all kinds of cool variations and up-the-neck ideas thrown in.

    It was cool to see you place your finger as if fretting over the frailing scoop. Awesome version, especially up the neck!

    Hi Brad, thank you for introducing me to this tune. I decided to try and learn it and as soon as I put my banjo into fCFCD it seemed to flow right out! I am sure I will have fun trying to master this for a long time to come and it's one of my favorite songs so far

      @@bradkolodnermusic Thank you! After I wrote this, I remembered I could slow down the video, so I got a little better idea. It's amazing how then the 5th string pluck is kinda swinging for this.

    How hard would it be if I bought a banjo and tried to learn playing the banjo myself? I play guitar (as my channel would show). Do you have any idea on this?
    By the way, beautiful music! Gonna share now on Facebook. 😍😍😀

    • @koalapancakesupreme
      @koalapancakesupreme Před 4 lety +2

      If you're already rhythmically inclined I think the process wouldn't be too hard. The mechanics of removing your upstrokes for playing clawhammer style like masterful mr. Kolodner here would probably be your biggest hurdle. If you've finger picked at all scrugss style banjo would be dead easy with little effort other than learning roll patterns.
      I'm now learning guitar after starting on banjo. Let me use the old adage "the first instrument is the hardest". Now to learn to sound like beautiful Brad... potentially a lifetime 😉 gl hf
