Very good video! As said before, short, sweet and to the point no extra BS. Thanks
@@cdscheide Thanks for the kind words and for watching!!
Short and straight to the point. I replaced a cartridge yesterday. Thank you for your help!
You are welcome ! We love to hear the success stories!!!
PTL! Thank you so much for including the instruction for applying the Scald Guard in this video at 2:15 ! By adjusting mine by one click to the right, or clockwise, I'm now safely showering with All the hot water I want from my new water heater. The instructions from Price Pfister don't include this with a new or replacement cartridge. There's no telling how much money Price Pfister has spent replacing cartridges because consumers don't know this!
You are most certainly welcome and that is great question you have ! Thanks for watching our video
Great explanation
Thanks for the kind words and for watching!
You just saved me hundreds of dollars. Thanks dude!!!
We are always so thrilled to hear the success stories! Thanks for watching and giving us the feedback!
Im having a hard to turn handle, i been through 3 handles already (acrylic) dont last very long, my only thought is the cartridge
Thanks a lot for the video
@@gameplayfactory4684 Those particular cartridges do become very stiff after a number of years. I would say your theory is probably correct!!
As a reminder to myself, the black piece is removable and re-adjustable to get higher temperature.
I make little reminders for myself all the time also. Thanks for watching our video!!
What cartridge is that? Just wondering what I’m asking for at Ace
It may be best to take the trim off the valve and take a picture of the front of the cartridge . That way when you to Ace if all they have is after market cartridges you will know exactly what it looks like . Good luck!!!
What's the name of that white thing that jas the 2 tabs on the side? Ours broke. I need to replace that
If you are asking about the piece in the very middle of the cartridge it is called the stem. You are gonna have to replace the entire cartridge. Best of luck , keep us posted with your progress if you have time please.
Thanks for the video what’s the cartridge part number if not too much to ask
Here is a link to the cartridge:) It contains the part number as well:) Thank you for watching!

Can that black piece in front be removed completely?
No, if you remove it then there is no stop mechanism for the stem.
what is the model number of the handle? i cant seem to find the handle for that cartridge setup.
Hi there! We usually order the Danco version from Amazon. We have had good luck with these. Here is the link: amzn.to/3xE02qK
Thank you for watching!
Stuff a rag or towel under the valve and the screws won't go down the wall.
That sounds like an outstanding suggestion. Thank you so much for sharing!!!
What happens if you install the cartridge inside down?
@@Specter087 I am not sure about that , are you sure that is possible to do?
@@TappPlumbing that’s how I installed mine. It seems to be working fine
@@Specter087Very interesting! Thanks for sharing your experience!!
What is the number wrench
I honestly am not sure . It is a left over from an install kit but I think it is a 3/32. Just be very careful not to strip the screw if possible. That would make things much more complicated. Good luck and keep us posted please.
@@TappPlumbing it is 3/32. I know cause I almost stripped mine using the wrong size allen! My issue now is the handle just doesnt want to slide off. Itʻs 17 years old and probably calcium deposits have it stuck. Any suggestions before i try and pry it off with a couple of crowbars?
If it is acrylic you could try a handle puller . You may have to cut it off regardless of what it is made of. Best of luck and keep us posted if you have time please.
