I'm at the other end, looking back on a lifetime of sailing and living on boats. I wish you well in this big adventure to come.
Of course there is cost in restoration and in that sense nothing is really free, however; there is calm and a sense of accomplishment in doing it yourself. That makes it free.
Here is a young man that will not waste his life sitting in a tavern, or using drugs. He now has a hobby for life, how wonderful!

1:12 or use a better sander than this cheap 3/32 ramdom sander, for rough sandng he needs a 3/16 orbital sander... uhu you guy don't know what I am talking about right?
You don’t know him! He could be using the boat to smuggle drugs and use the money in Vegas!
Or perhaps even a lucrative career. Good Boat mechanics and craftsman are worth their weight in gold, as most of us know.
Drugs would be cheaper than boating.
That sailboat deserves an opportunity to sail again and continue living.

I feel what this kid went through, I had this "deal" with this salvage pony car and fast forward 2 years later, it's a beautiful piece of work, props to this guy for having a vision and sticking to it, its every hard, you have alot of doubts and theres alot of times where you want to give up

I give you, all the respect. I brought back to life a 1974 Irwin 25ft masthead sloop. Took me 2 yrs. And never seen the water. ☹ After I completed her. A hurricane here in Florida. Took her out. Hope your boat has. Seen the water. Safe Sailing, Fair winds and fair seas.

There is nothing more incredible that "puttering around' in boats for which there is always the sunet... and the music takes the story over the top.

I find it to be a lovely attractive little sailboat that with some love, work and commitment will give her owner terrific experiences and knowledge.
Dont know why this was in my recommendations, and I'll admit that I fully expected it to sink like a rock the minute it touched the water.
I was half expecting the pipe to the mast to have a leak and to sink the boat... its kind of a very stupid and common issue.

I got a free boat from my employer..22 foot sport boat..some guy gave him 300 bucks to tow it to the scrap yard..all it needed was batterys and a cleaning..seats..pretty much it..plus maintenance on the engine..runs great..so yeah free boats are out there..🤙

Pressure wash everything then spray all the insides with oil of clove mix with water leave it sit then pressure wash everything again. Make sure none of that nasty mould comes back.
It's vinegar that kills mold.

I'm jealous. Caught the bug and been watching sailing channels for about 18 months now. Not in a position to do to much about it yet but learning more and more by the day thank s to various channels like yours. Living vicariously through you guys, I suspect.
