  • "What makes a Cartier watch different is really the work on shape and design." This one sentence pretty much sums up the 25 pieces we got to see from Cartier's official archives, including some of the craziest variations of the iconic Tank. This outstanding line-up also showed how Cartier has managed to continuously re-invent itself over nearly two centuries, with a unique ability to twist a classic and still keep the distinctly elegant vibe that has characterized the French maison since its founding in 1847. His last sentence is so true. Only classy people understand how elegant and refined is a Cartier on a wrist. Tacky people will always want flashy and huge watches, no matter what.

    To me, in 1984 when I was 18 years old, my square Cartier Santos steel & gold was the most elegant sport watch on the planet. It's slim and beautiful. I would love to see a picture of the original "Santos" model made by Louis Cartier for his friend Santos Dumont.

    And people still call cartier watches a " fashion watch company," it is true that they have lost a lot of ground on the watch market. However, cartier have the same of even more horological history than the over priced Rolex.

      They've gained a ton of it back in the last several years. In-house movements, more investment into grand complications and fine watchmaking, long-needed refreshes, etc. have made them super competitive in the watch market again.

    “Cartier, I Love the Crash Cartier watch (without the diamonds). Was never really into Cartier until I came across your ads. Your marketing team managed to not only capture a bigger audience, but add more value to your brand. I myself never would have thought about Cartier (btw I've known this brand for awhile and recognize the attributes ) or given it much value today, then before, not because of the craft man ship (it is excellent, no doubt), but just because of the digital age penetrating the market with smart phones and other brand and line extensions, such as smart watches, but mostly I hate time and the constraints it imposes on us. My attitude has changed since the launch of your ads. Each time I watch one, I find myself decoding the messages. The last one I watched almost appeared to be giving us an anatomy lesson on your watches. Cartier, your marketing team is second to none. They really needed to up the ante in this digital age, and my goodness, did they ever. They also helped remind us why we need to give the optimum value to Cartier. I am so impressed with your marketing team. I may not like time, but I love elegance and style.”ML(c)

    • @jessicac6309
      @jessicac6309 Před 7 lety +1

      The Tank line is named so because it draws inspiration of the aerial view of a tank. The Tank Normale is the purest form (and sadly no longer in production) in the sense that there are no outstanding features. You'll find the other Tanks will be more distinctive in some way shape or form, for example the Tank Americaine is more elongated and slightly curved.
