What kind of fruit would you use to customize this dessert? Let us know!
Blackberries would be a great substitute here! BTW, can you use buttermilk instead of plain milk?
Peaches!
@@BIgDaddyJ62 Thanks so much for your question Jaymes! With buttermilk because of the acidity, it may have a different effect on leavening agents in the self-rising flour, though it could be worth a try! Vallery also mentions in the video that you can swap-in a plant-based milk as an option. Blackberries sound absolutely delicious!
@@BIgDaddyJ62 Blackberries or boysenberries would totally work with this. 😋
Peaches. Strawberries. Mangoes!
Thank you Vallery! I made a vegan version of this two nights ago. I used vegan butter and plant milk.
So clever! Love these simple one-bowl recipes. Can't wait to try!
I have sooo many peaches and cherries right now. I’m going to replicate this recipe with my stone fruits!
Delicious! Easy to make! What could be better?
i think one could reduce the sugar by half a cup, and a little less butter wouldn't harm nobody as well - but in terms of easy it's a quick recipe to throw together :)
Amen sista! My eyes 👀bugged out when I saw that 😄
I could almost taste this when she ate it at the end
I GOTTA GET SOME BLUEBERRIES 🫐
this is so simple!!! Def going to make this
Thanks so much for watching Alicia, happy baking!!
oh looks so yum.
Can you use buttermilk instead of plain milk?
I would have enjoyed seeing a close up.
Omg me too!
Really nice recipe 👍
We do this but with peach in GA
Is there any adjustments for high altitude?
Also, I love her cover up! Where did she get it? 😍😍😍
Thank you for making this recipe eggless 💚
OMG I LOVE😍
Hell yeah 🥧
Reminds me of a peach cobbler recipe.
There should be a close-up shot of it once you get it out of the oven.
What size loaf pan to use? Thank you!
I have a ton of blueberries in my freezer. Thanks neighbors. 😊 I’m terrible at doubling recipes. I always over or undercooked and screwup the liquids and eggs ratios. How should I double this recipe and should I bake it in an 8x8 and how long should I bake it for in the 8x8 if I do? Thank you in advance.
An 8x8x2 should work. It normally allows for 8 cups of batter or two loaf pans. If you’re going to double it, I’d suggest a Bundt or tube pan. I often use a Bundt to substitute for a 2 loaf recipe. To double it just use:
2 cups SR flour
2 cups Sugar
2 cups Milk
2 teaspoons Salt
2 sticks of Butter
2 Cups of Blueberries
Personally I’m gonna add a teaspoon of vanilla and use half cream/ half milk. Good luck and happy baking!
@@LynLvs2Laugh Thank you for the help! 😊
so easy
Thanks so much for watching Teri!
If you are using Morton's kosher salt you need to half the amount.
It looks delicious and I definitely would like to try it. But, when showing people to bake you really should use the correct measuring cups. You never measure milk in a dry measuring cup always use a liquid measuring cup for milk
I'm pretty sure she did that on purpose to show how simple the recipe is and how few dishes it requires. When commenting on people's work, you really should take the time to listen to their method. You never assume that somebody who is presenting their own creation is doing it wrong.
Yumma!! Also 1st
I would put a layer of blueberries on the bottom of the pan before pouring in the batter. Just because.
