Yamuna Sivyer I’m a huge amazon fan! But I think it’s important to put them into perspective and not sugarcoat things. It melts my heart! 😊

I had a Amazon he was awesome he would talk to himself about himself alllll day. He would sing, dance… one day I woke up and my mom gave him away. Along with my African grey. And yes he hated everyone but my brother but i loved him he made me laugh a lot. My African grey was unlike any others she was sooooo sweet and loved everyone.

Once again I’m smitten by your birds and your commitment to them is remarkable! If only everyone would take your advice and do the research. This seems to be the case with Dogs as well. People just see cuddly pictures, birds talking, dogs dancing and they think that theirs will be able to do the same thing on cue. Obviously you have dedicated a great amount of time and practice and consistency with your birds. I suspect that even having done all those things sometimes birds can just become mercurial and change, based on everything I’ve been watching.

Lola looks just like our Amazon! His feathers look so healthy! Can you tell me a little about his diet? I've been struggling with getting mine to eat more fresh food. Also, would you ever free-fly an Amazon?

hoping to learn a few tricks from you that we haven't thought of. Everyone learns something new every day. I hope Zeus will free fly one day but he's such a dummy. Brilliant recall in the house but outside its always when he can be bothered. He rather watch the world go round lol.@@craigscrazyflock3810

I have the same type of bird!
My brother got him today but my brother wants to sell him and I thought him to make noises I want to teach it to speak and if I say hello to it his eyes pin and I think it means he is happy or excited and he dose not bite and he lets you pet his head and when I sit on the floor near him he will sometimes put his head in the bars for me to pet him and he makes noises when I go somewhere where he can’t see me

60-80, though most Amazons are capable of reaching up to 90 if they're kept in a good, healthy diet. Definitely a lifetime companion that if you get one as a baby, he/she would most likely outlive you thus you'd be responsible for finding someone who would cherish and care for the bird once your gone... it's great honestly, my Amazon has been my only constant friend and companion since middle school, I am now 26. I feel blessed that no matter who comes and goes in my life, my Lucas will always be by my side. He's my bestie. ANNOYING AF!!! but still my bestie lol
