- Today we are getting yet another Parrot. He is a Double Yellow Headed Amazon Parrot. We are adopting him from someone who just moved to an apartment and he is too loud for him. Like most cases he is probably being loud because he is not getting the attention he needs. We are excited to give give him a loving new home where he will get lots of attention.

Of course Spike was dusty, & more so than Peter, since cockatoos are «dust birds» rather than most other parrots, e.g. Amazons, who are «oil birds» (what they have in their gland at the bottom of their backs to preen and waterproof their feathers with)… Peter is soooo cute, look forward to hear his talking/singing❣️ Loooove his Amazon sounds, soooo cute❣️ 💚🦜💚

My yellow head likes to be on my shoulders all the time sometimes even take a nap with me but I think it’s spoiled gets mad if it doesn’t seem me not a whole day And sometimes it could be a little biting

Please, tell me how better to hold as a pet, one or one pair of blue fronted amazon? I have a boy (near 4 years old ) and recent i got an 8 months old girl for him. In the last few weeks, he's become aggressive towards me. Will it be permanent or shortly? What am I supposed to do to keep him on my side? Thanks! I am very anxious and nervous about his attitude and I would like to know if he will return to me as he was before or not. What should I do? I am a poor old man who has in this world only a parrot and a few dollars a day, the vets ask me many hundreds of dollars for a little advice. Shame on them! We got him from someone who was moving somewhere where he wasn't able to keep him. It was an ad on Hoobly I believe.
Is your new bird the same thing as a Mexican Double Yellow Head? He looks exactly like one.
How the hell do you sleep at night
Lol, Fortunately, they do quite well at night. They are out free all day so they are pretty tired at the end of the day.
How I can get one
Most of our birds are ones that were surrendered due to behavioral issues or they were rescued from poor situations. You can always look at rescues, they do great work. Thye will help you prepare and teach you what you need to know. We also have a bird farm that rasises birds close by. Our two babies (Ruby and Zelda) were purchased from them. They were amazing at helping us to find Spike (our first Moluccan Cockatoo) the best home for him. We wanted to give back to them, so we purchased two of their babies.
