From why I remember the guy who came up with the sound effects for the special moves particularly the Dempsey Roll got rewarded quite thoroughly because of it
i don`t know a lot about boxing but if my opponent starts making jet engine sounds with smoke coming out of his ass and his theme starts playing in the arena , I`m not staying to know what he will do
Fascinating how the atmosphere and the effect of the scene changes when the song gets changed/inserted. The original doesn't have music and achieves a surprise-effect for the viewer that it's something completely new. The Inner Light one achieves a fitting musical power up effect and reaches the usual HNI feeling This one gives the scene a rather serious and dramatic effect. All of them work.
I've never seen the show, I didn't even see the build up to this fight. Yet I still got goosebumps watching this short clip... I really need to see this anime.
It's my personal favorite. I really recommend it. I believe its ranked #20 in the best anime's to exist. So do give it a shot, there's 2 other seasons as well so there's plenty to watch.
jeremiah soh I GOTTA disagree with that. I read the manga and what not, and to this day the only Takamara match I've cared for was his match with Hawk. Meanwhile I've adored EVERY match of Ippo's. It's all up to opinion really.
anime is magical, they make even the smallest things cool, They can fart, but it will the most explosive, the loudest and the most dangerous fart in the universe. And seeing Ippo getting confident for a change its really nice too.
Few moves in anime are as fucking hype as the Dempsey Roll. Like seriously, watching him weave and start to speed up, and giving those shotgun punches.... like damn
I've seen people add in audio and forget to remove the underlying music track, I've seen people who don't know how to keep the sound levels balanced, and I've seen people who can't get the timing of the song right, and you did all three of those splendidly. Good work!
well just becuz some1 seems innocent, it doesnt mean that he isnt one super strong person, its just that he never was thinking about his own strenght and wasnt aware of it at all, if u awaken the hidden power of an innocent kid, i guess it will be always the same result, these ppl have one huge adventage, they can only go foward and get stronger and stronger, seems like its the key to this
PROFESSOR AHRI Also those who are innocent are easier to be corrupted. Becoming a beast.. Think about a pure white paper tainted by blood.. Now think about a fully black/shade color paper covered in blood.. Which would you notice first?
The thing is that this was nothing more than a solution to a problem. It was an extension of his boxing style. Hes am in fighter and not much of a counter puncher. That means he's all about head movement; unless he wants to eat glove. So closing in and moving that head creates the motion, his defense. Now the question is, how can you be in the offense while still maintaining defense. By using the momentum of your head movements to fuel your punches. Those are the basic ideas behind the Dempsey roll, basically for its original creator it was originally a desperation move too.
This really is amazing, this is my first time ever watching the anime because usually I just read manga, but when I read this scene this is exactly the type of music I imagined in my head. Brought to life on screen just really blows my mind, good job
Good editing. I didn't even notice the song until the end where there was no action. I was like wait.... it fits is so well... but this isn't a song that was in the original.... then I looked at the title again haha.
I love watching this anime. its not just the fights. but, the training and how all the guys acts with each other. how they prank each other. its to funny. but by far the one thing that always trips me out. is every time he does the Dempsey roll. that jet engine, the car breaks and the blue shadow auro. not to mention the crazy boxing moves by the others. like sendos crush, or the guillotine arm swing.
The version with this music is one of my top 5 moments in anime, the reaction of the coach and takamura is perfect, what is said, the sounds effects, and how it was so dominant. Perfectly done!
Dang, I only recently started to listen to the OST The Finisher and hadn't noticed before that this is NOT the original OST that plays with the scene!!! This is a truly fantastic job, I mean the punches connected RIGHT as the music would swell, the voices and music seemed to be in sync with each other [as with most vids of this sort, the track is haphazardly thrown over the existing audio, making it hard to hear one or both of them.] What a hell of a job, fantastic Phrast!
The editing is amazing! Didn't even notice the music at first. I questioned if there was music in the original, had to look at the title. Excellent work, my dude!
It still baffles me how perfectly timed the audio is at 3:23 This is freaking amazing and I can only imagine how you edited it so perfectly Keep up the good work!
Someone I just met mentioned this anime to me. This was the first clip that came up on Google. I'm not a fan of boxing and didn't think I would be into a sports anime. I have shows that I'm catching up on this week and I'm putting this in the line up.
I've been training in boxing to one day fight professionally for several months now and I hope to have progressed enough to have my first official fight in the Heavyweight Division within a year. I've just found my new inspirational training and walkout music. Now I need to learn the Dempsey Roll. I have alot of experience fighting outside the ring but when I step in with those gloves on during full contact spars, it's like I'm unconsciously pulling my punches, especially with my power hand. I know this technique is dangerous to use as it leaves you wide open in many areas but the whole science of it might be just what I need to actually throw those gloves with the intent to hurt my opponent. Since boxing does not allow you to wear contacts, my nearsightedness is forcing me to have to learn to bob and weave and to fight in my opponents' faces else I will get killed from punches I can't see should I stick to boxing at arms' length as I'm only 6'1'', 240 lbs which is severely undersized for the heavyweight division..
Improve on your legs and waist, it'll make getting closer to your enemy and bobbing and weaving easier. As well as allowing you to more easily shift your weight for heavier punches.
This would never work in real boxing. There are so many flaws I don't know what type of training you've been doing but you're obviously clueless Weeb trash stop comparing anime to real life
Anna Boutsouridou oh you mean the Dempsey roll that was perfected by jack Dempsey, a real life boxer. The same one he used to win against a guy a foot taller than him in a championship match. You may not like what I have next but the guy who wrote this series was actually a boxer and every single move you see in the show is actually a real boxing technique. Albeit exaggerated.
Anna Boutsouridou wtf are you talking about smh.The Dempsey roll is an actual technique that Dempsey used to match his aggressive style of boxing. People let their mouths run online like diarrhea and have absolutely no clue wtf their talking about especially insulting someone 😂😂😂
How to beat this teq? You must have quick reflexes and speed. First when it is done don't Punch randomly it will create a opening, use both arms. Left to take the punch and right for the left arm of the opponent thus finishing of his arm which would result in a double arm kill as your arm is well broken in the process. Now with your right when he punchs duck under and do a uppercut to finish the match. Only do able if u have quick reflexes and amazing speed with the reflexes being used at maximum.

I love this anime, but it is still weird to me that a kid so innocent in nature would come up with such a violent finisher, LOL! Anyway, rock on Ippo!
Strength comes from the technique, anyone can hit hard if they have the right technique
well just becuz some1 seems innocent, it doesnt mean that he isnt one super strong person, its just that he never was thinking about his own strenght and wasnt aware of it at all, if u awaken the hidden power of an innocent kid, i guess it will be always the same result, these ppl have one huge adventage, they can only go foward and get stronger and stronger, seems like its the key to this
